Does anyone else think that Noel's singing on Mucky Fingers sounds a bit like he's been influenced by Bob Dylan? I was just listening to it and thought, that sounds a bit like Dylan! And the mouth organ stuff on it too, sounds a bit like a heavier version of Dylan IMO, never mind the Velvet Underground.

It's very Bob Dylan! Give his Roal Albert Hall concert from 1966 a listen. Dylan sounds even heavier than Noel on that one.

It's actually ''I'm waiting For the Man'' by VU...except for the bass....and Noel actually sings...although I love Lou's talk-singing.....

Yes you are right about the influences of course.. wasn't noel's comments about the song something like being in awe of Lou - "I'm having that !" and then at the last minute saying "screw it Dylan rules !" I commend him for having a "listen back in time" to the legendary artists and his love for simplicity. Also, His descriptions of his songs are always hilarious ! LOVE HIM for it !

Favorite track on the album along with Let There Be Love. The track definitely has those influences.Noel's songs on this album sound so much different from anything previously. Think he's gotten into some new influences during the three year break. How about that harmonica solo by Gem . It's nice that Noel letting other people to shine in the group . This album is more of a team album than any of the previous ones . I think it also now ranks 3rd in my list behind Definitely and WTSMG.
