Lyla has just gone in at no.1 in the UK, as did all all the first releases from SOTSOG and HC.
But what are the 1st week sales of GLIO, HT and Lyla?
Just to compare on what scale this oasis 'comeback' is!

And what's the staus of legal downloads, like from iTunes? Does the UK singles chart take those into account? I'm a Yank, so I don't know. I don't even know if it counts over here.
So, taking all that into account, I think we can all agree that "Lyla" probably sold a total of a million copies in its first week, and that's just in the UK.
No, just being a smart-ass. But I'm thinking, if you consider "Some Might Say" to be the first single from MG (though it came out like 6 months before the album), that means every debut single from the last 5 Oasis albums has hit the top spot in the UK. That's a great record.

they have seperate charts for online downloads, since its easier and cheaper to get them from itunes, and all artists arent on itunes so it isnt really fair to include online sales

well you gotta take into account how much the internet has grown -more people are aware of downloading leaked songs these days so the sales figures will be affected. also, the uk chart DOES now take into account downloads (but remember all the leeches who show up in here wanting leaked stuff -they wont buy singles will they!?!) also, the hindu times totally rules!

Go Let it Out deserved the big sales--even though the lyrics (and god knows what else) were partially stolen.
