www.amusicalpriority.co.uk/Review_Oasis_Lyla.htmOasis Lyla Released 16 May 2005 Three years without Oasis is far too long. The wait is over Oasis are back to take over the charts with Lyla a song that highlights everything that we have missed about Oasis. Without Oasis in the charts there is a huge hole in the music world that cannot be filled by anyone else. Oasis have been the most important British band since The Beatles. They burst on the scene in 1994 and changed so many lives for the better. Now with British music stronger than it has been in the last ten years the time is perfect for Oasis to return and show the world who is the best. Noel claims the new material to be the best thing they have done since Definitely Maybe, a statement which I’m sure he has made about every album since Definitely Maybe. As soon as Lyla kicks off you can’t help but believe everything Noel says, Lyla really is something special. Lyla sticks to the formula that made Oasis so good in the first place, take your influences and turn them into your own song. Lyla is a cross between The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Soundtrack Of Our Lives. Already it is an anthem. This will have you punching your fists in the air in triumph; it will make you want to walk around town with the Liam swagger. It will make you fall in love with music; it will make kids want to pick up a guitar and start a band. Lyla is full of guitars, drums and Liam’s vocals, which are second to none. Liam Gallagher is the greatest living frontman; he was born to be in a band. As soon as the vocals kick in on Lyla you realise how much you have missed him. There is no one else out there who has the same effect on you as Liam does. The Lyrics are typical Noel, they don’t always make sense, “If you can't hear me call, Then I can't say LYLA, Heaven help you catch me if I fall”. Lyla apparent is the second cousin of Sally from Don’t Look Back In Anger who was Sally Cinnamon (Stone Roses). Lyla will become a live favorite during the summer stadium tour which sold out in hours Oasis may have done their bit for music, they may no longer need to carry on making music. Oasis will sell millions of records and sell out tours on their name along. The fact that we’ve got a new single and album Don’t Believe The Truth coming out means people will be queuing outside record shops to be the amongst the first to get their hands on the new material, how many bands out there really have that effect on people. The fact that Oasis have got a new record coming out is reason for celebration alone, the fact that it is a full on instant rock n roll classic is an added bonus. 5/5...ST

This guy said everything that could have been said about Oasis and beeing a fan. No more should be added; this guy is fuckin brilliant.
If this guy intends to visit Holland sometime, then he has to come over to my place and have a drink. When we are finished and there is something left, I'll send it to Hooters Bar....
