So what do you think is going on over there? You know that EVERYONE (@ NME) has heard the album. Also, although only one person will have his/her name after the review, the entire STAFF will have their input.
Unlike magazines that aren't music, they wouldn't let just one person write a review and make it THE NME's review. They are probably reading everyone elses reviews and seeing how those go.
Would the NME only allow one persons review reflect their magazine on an album by the biggest UK act the last decade??
When does it come out?

All reviews mean fuck all anyway, the NME proved it when they fuckin ripped WTSMG apart and then when they realised everyone loved it, THEY RE-REVIEWED IT! Fuckin wankers, at least have the balls to follow through with what you say!! |

I AGREE with a 8 but damn they gave HC a 8 and this pisses on it... Fuckin hell, did they give HC an 8? Shocking! All reviews mean fuck all anyway, the NME proved it when they fuckin ripped WTSMG apart and then when they realised everyone loved it, THEY RE-REVIEWED IT! Fuckin wankers, at least have the balls to follow through with what you say!! yep i am re reading it now from the uncut magazine they put out on them ..they called it a "winning formula" the review ends and i quote"in gloomy times OASIS have remembered how to cheer us up"(8) if thats a 8 this is 9 but i doubt they will get a 9 .proving nme reviewers are shit! |

NME reviewers are complete shit. Firstly they gave MG, an album with songs like Wonderwall, DLBIA, Champagne Supernova, MG, Some Might Say etc only 7/10. What vaginas! Then they re-review it later!!! Then they give Be Here Now the score it deserves 9/10, then when they realise most people don't like Be Here Now they re-review that and say its shit!! Then they actually give HC 8/10, a higher score than they originally gave Morning Glory!!! Even though only 1 or 2 of its songs would be good enough to get on Morning Glory (even the short instrumental bits on Morning Glory are better than most of HC!!!). NME are just a bunch of reactionist twats who can't form their own opinion and stick to it. And they love to re-write history...
And to end the debate on how shit NME reviewers are - they said that the second Strokes album was better than "Is This It" - which is the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard, their second album was shite!!

JayG - I agree, I hardly ever buy it any more. I used to buy it quite regularly but I just ended up thinking what's the point? It's just so shit, and you can get all the news you need on the Internet these days anyway.

Also, think out of the box for a second. compare HC to the other albums that get critical acclaim like shite by the darkness, killers, bravery, shite stripes, kaiser chiefs etc and certainly HC deserves its 8. THT, SCYHO, LBL, Songbird, SIL, BOADC are all top songs. just because DBTT is infinitely superior, it doesnt mean we have to turn on HC. |

That's a good point, but I for one am not just starting to criticise HC, I've always thought it was the worst of all the Oasis albums. Buts its all about personal preference anyway.

I've never liked HC either. I like HT, HIABP (although the production almost ruins it), and Liam's 3, but as a whole I don't like it. IMO DBTT is light years ahead of it.
I thought NME would slate it, but recently there's been some positivity about it. You can never tell with NME, they just jump on bandwagons, because most major publications are praising it, they probably will as well. I remember the issue after Glasto they gave Oasis a brilliant review, then the next week after most quarters were bashing it, they ran a whole thing about how bad it was, and haven't stopped since.
