Although England still treats them like rock royalty, the rest of the world realizes Oasis had one good album, and they put it out a decade ago. Otherwise their career has been a mildly amusing, drunken tabloid sideshow backed by the occasional pretentious rock anthem. Their latest effort is OKm if only because the songs don't sound like Beatles retreads-now they sound like Oasis retreads! 2/5
Pfff, and Coldplays album got 4/5 and album of the month as did Gorillaz.

Proof once again that Maxim is only good for scantily-clad photos of the flavors of the month and teaching you how to set up orgies/kick people in the balls/have a wingman, etc...

God I hate all this Oasis-bashing!!! At first I was heartened to hear warm reviews and previews of the new album in the Sun and various other magazines but since the live shows it has all gone back to "boring old oasis, weak new material, Liam and Noel moody vaginas onstage" bollocks!!! From Evening standard, Sun and Mirror reviews recently... "they'll never make another wonderwall" - Get over it will you!?!

Jesus.... what a bunch of morons. One good album??? Any culture magazine that doesn't acknowledge that DM, WTS, and BHN were "good" isn't worth my time... but regardless...
Oasis retreads? DBTT sounds remotely like anything Oasis has ever done before -- how the fuck can you possibly call it a retread? Oh and the rest of the world doesn't equal the USA -- last I heard the rest of Europe and Japan were pretty well mad fer it.

I don't worry to much about reviews like this. It's not as if they're a respected music magazine. However, a lot of casual fans will read this review and it does have an impact. It's a shame I enjoy this magazine so much. I'm soured though.

Well............ I had a Maxim Magazine Subscription for 4 years and yes there is hot chicks. I didn't renew after my 4 years were up b/c the humour was just getting too young and stupid (or I was getting older....35 now)
Anyway, remember if it's not a Music magazine then it is left to ONE person to give his personal review that has no business telling anyone what to buy.
By the way Maxim gave 'Heathen Chemistry' 4 Stars back in 2002. I like HC so I agreed but DBTT is better and it gets 2.
I bet these reviewers buy into the whole 'Beatles' rip off thing (in which I don't honestly hear that much at all) and they go with it.
Said they had one good album?
DM MG
Which one is he leaving off.
Screw Maxim and it's potty humour!

I just bought the magazine today. It's the Maxim Hot 100 issue. If I was going to make up a review it would be a better one than that.

Well, it looks like Maxim has a new music critic. I'm very surprised, Heathen Chemisty was hailed in Maxim, almost more than I thought it deserved. O well, wasn't a very thorough review anyhow....

No one goes to Maxim for music reviews anyway. Most people have no idea that Maxim even reviews albums. Not exactly a credible music source. Completely meaningless.
