It's hard to believe that he's going to be 40 soon. When I look at him and listen to him talk, I don't see a guy in his late 30's. He doesn't seem that old to me.

I said this on a previouos thread, but part of the reason Noel looks wrong onstage recently (he also did at Glasto) is that he has stopped using an angled mic stand that allows him to stand back from the mic, play his guitar and sing - check out FTM or any other live video to see him using this, he looked much freer and happier. Now he uses a straight mic stand like Liam (and other singers) does, and he hunches over it to sing - as can be seen on Jonathan Ross. When he is slagging Ross after the song, he has to bend down to the mic to bitch at him! I wish he would change back, he looks like a nob hunching over that straight mic stand. |

yeah that's it. since glastonbury he's using that straight mic but it seems to be his own decision. i really dont know why cause it makes him look weird.

He pulls it over to use the guitar slide He used a slide on Gas Panic! all through the 2000 tour (see him do it on FTM). You can get a little widget that pokes out of your stand (on angled ones) on which you rest your slide and it's easy to pull it off and get playing very quickly. I'm in a band and have done this myself loads of times. I think he maybe might have switched to the straight one cos he's got a bad back? This is a pure guess on my part but he was saying on the webcast his back was dodgy. Myabe that's why he has to hunch over the mic now? Either way there's no getting around the fact he looks stupid doing it. |
