....Oh and if I did choose to go with a micro machine, how would I transfer it to a computer? Whereas if I chose to go with a regular sized cassette, I could go directly from my tape deck to my CD recorder, get it on disc, then rip it to my computer via MMJB.

Never even thought of mixing/matching the two together to get the best possible quality! That's CLASS, would you have the software to do it? (I have Cool-Edit at work)... With that being said, I currently do not own a small portable recorder... Are there any machines you recommend? (In terms of size/quality, etc.)... I know about those small "micro-cassette" recorders, do they still sell them? Let me know your ideas, as I still have over a month to purchase one... ;D Let me think about that one mate. The nice thing for me is, my mate got tickets for a band he likes on Wed 22, the Oasis show is Fri 24, so I'm gonna record the 22 show and see how it all pans out. If all is well I'll repeat the same method for the tweeter gig. If not, I have 48 hours to get plan b. My recorder makes voice recordings, which I can switch to mp3 and all I have to do is plug in a USB from the device to my laptop. Maybe some others are more well versed than I in this area? PS. I hope you're right about the gig tonight Pizzy!

once you're inside the venue, especially one the size of Tweeter, you should have no problem making a recording. A couple of suggestions: 1) to get your gear in, buy an extra large athletic supporter (the kind where you slip the plastic cup into a pocket) and put everything in there. you're not going to get frisked there, trust me 2) get set up in a bathroom stall. have all your connections made, mics placed where they need to be, then go to your seat. this eliminates having to deal with it out in the open, which would only draw attention to you depending on your seat location. 3) don't talk!!!! and make sure your mate shuts up too. nothing ruins a tape faster than someone carrying on a conversation.

anthmcc, what kind of gear are you using? I plan on doing the NY show as well. I'm up in the air about taping the Boston show, since I'd like to be able to relax and enjoy at least one of them

Hmmmmm.... maybe I WON'T boot the Boston show after all, I'll be singing along probably thoughout the thing... however I thought that the music would be so loud it would all but drown my voice out, as well as anyone around me, no? Ahhh, maybe I'll just record it anyways and take my chances to see how it comes out. Since this is my first Oaisis gig, and we don't know if/and when they are ever coming back, I am gonna let loose, sing along, pack down a few brews and just let it all go! But we'll see how the cussed thing turns out newayz Here's a thought: Imagine if the voices DID bleed onto the recording, and you had the misfortune of sitting next to a lousy drunk who kept screaming and shouting throughout the whole show!

you'd be surprised at what the mics can pick up. It's going to detect your voice due to it's proximity to the mic, in addition to the music, regardless of how loud it is. keep in mind that the louder the music is, the more you'd have to speak up to be heard. sometimes you can't help who you sit next to. for general admission shows, I try to stay away from those who look tanked, and from females. their shreiking and "aaaahhhh!!!!!!!" are annoying (no offense, ladies ) but by all means, tape it. even it comes out bad, you never know when you might be the only one with a copy of the show!

Hmmmmmmmm.... yeah I'm gonna try it... thanx for your athletic supporter idea, that is very clever! After I get it down you guys will have to show me how to use something like usendit or one of those, I'd love to share it with this wonderful community, the best Oasis fans in the world are right here... During my short time here you guys (and gals) have given me so much and I'd like to give back
