I've now heard all the songs and IMO its there best. Lyrics actually make a point and musically it is fucking amazing. Percussion is mega as well.

It's good, I think. I like it. But there's not one song on there as good as LIVE FOREVER or SLIDE AWAY or WONDERWALL or DLBIA.
But as a solid collection of songs, ya, might be their best. Better than the last 3, that's for sure!

A bold statement indeed lions! I'm not sure what to think - DM was so much about a time and a place for me, it'll always be number one - for sentimental reasons...
Musically this one is tight, and in my opinion may rank up there with WTSMG.
JMO. Cheers!!!

I really think it's a fantastic album. Oasis have really high standards and have set the bar musically and lyrically in the past, so it's hard to better some of their previous stuff, but I think they are there or at least not far off with this album.
When I got SOTSOG and HC there were some songs on initial listens that stuck, but I found myself playing the album and skipping through most of it inititally just to get to the decent songs. This album is the only one I've been listening to for the last few days and I don't skip a thing.
I think they've kept the album at a reasonable length as well. With some artists and albums especially the last phonics album, I found myself looking my watch wondering if the track would ever fucking end, but on this one, they don't appear to ruin the songs by dragging it out to overkill.
It's a more mature sound that earlier Oasis records, but I think it's all the better for it.

I disagree with you lionsden. The new album is good, but it's definitely not as good as their previous albums. However, DBTT does have a traditional anthemic Oasis song with Let There Be Love. I think DBTT is another stepping stone in the bands career in terms of fortifying them as one of the best rock bands of all time.

It is incredible to see how many people still find WTSMG and DM their best albums. Dont you think you are stuck in time? DM clearly sounds like a debut album, even though it has some decent songs and brought me into Oasis. WTSMG is better than DM, but by no means their best album. Commercially it was, but musically it is not. You see, there was a song about a chick on it (Wonderwall) so people got attracted by the album, but thats the only reason why it hit the mainstream. Most people who have it dont even know the better songs on the album and only played DLBIA and Wonderwall.
Be Here Now is awesome and mega fucking cool, even though I find two songs (IGBM, AATW) quite too long on the album. Initially this album was praised by everyone, but when the band made some comments about politics and the media these same magazines started claiming how bad it was. Typically the shit media, giving a higher rating to an average, set-up-by-producers Britney or Eminem album, which should not even be regarded as music.
SOTSOG is the magical album that defined modern electronic psychedelic rock music. Together with BHN it contains some of their best songs and this is why HC was disappointing for me. There are some decent songs on HC, but only a few are refreshing. If another band (like the crap U2) would have released HC it would have been a superalbum, but I expected more from a superband like Oasis.
DBTT is wonderful. Right now I think its the best Oasis album ever. But perhaps it would be more honest to say this in 5 years, because then I can tell if this album will be played as often as SOTSOG/BHN was before DBTT came...!
Great album!

Mate, DM is the bollocks. You're entitled to your opinion and all that, but it BHN is no where near as good as DM. Not in the same league. WTSMG is alright. I'm with Lionsden, I think it is a bit soft. Obviously CS, MG, and DLBIA are all time classics but songs like Roll With It are a bit rubbish.
Onto DBBT. I think it's a close second to DM. Its really melodic, has some great Liam vocals, and unlike BHN has a lot of spirit to it. It's certainly better than WTSMG.
