By The Way that is the Alternative National Airplay. Oasis in the U.S. has almost always been seen as 'alternative', mainly b/c of the time they came out.
Not a new surprise.

You know what, Oasis should just rerelease LIVE FOREVER in the U.S.
Since like, 99% of America prolly never heard of it-- just call it something else and rerelease it. It could probably get to #1!

I was listening to DM the other day and my father heard Live Forever, and he came in asking who it was. I told him, and he says something like "I've heard that before, I didn't know that was Oasis."
So I think a lot of people know more songs than just Wonderwall, DLBIA, and CS (and Lyla now), they just don't remember them.

I was at a bar the other with a few friends and one of them knows some Oasis songs but is not a huge fan. I told him that I heard "Live Forever" on the way into the city (Boston) and he replied, "Wait, I don't think I know that song." So I said, "It's the one that goes, 'Maybe, I don't really wanna know...' and he immediately interjects, "I know that song!! I love that song!!" So, yeah, you're right. I think a lot of people know the songs, they just don't know it's Oasis. Uneducated bastards... ;D

Lyla keeps climbing the rock charts in the US. It gets solid play here in Los Angeles. And this comes after getting ZERO play for Heathen Chemistry.

are these charts the same as the modern rock chart on billboard???
i've been checking that chart every week for a while and lyla hasn't been on it yet... but i can only see the top 20. hopefully they'll make the charts soon and maybe even make the top 10.

Whats up all, I'm a yankee here to clear up some confusion.
To answer the question about whether the Modern Rock and alternative charts are the same- the answer is no. Oasis always get played on Alternative radio stations-, but there are very few alternative radio stations compared to modern rock stations(which tend to play stuff heavier then oasis). It is good to see oasis oasis getting played on alternative radio, but i would not expect that to translate into good record sales. For example, GLIO got played alot on alternative radio and up to number 16 on the modern rock charts(if i remember correctly), but the album still sold really badly. The reason WTSMG did so well was not because of modern rock radio, but because of pop radio. Wonderwall, DLBIA, CS all got tons of play. LTBL sounds like a tune that could do potentially do great on american radio.(havent heard it yet, but from what everyone says about it)
BTW, Def. Maybe did somewhat well in america, it did go Gold, selling more then 500,000 copies.
