Just wait for some video (TOTP or live performance) and see what happens. If Noel steps up to the mic and then Liam finishes the line, then we'll know for sure. As of now, it's too hard to detect.

This shouldn't even be an issue, it's so obvious that it's Liam for the whole verse!! The vocals been double tracked.

You can tell straight away other songs on the album have been double tracked, but they haven't done that on Let there be Love as far as I can tell. Unless mcdougall comes up with the MP3's I guess we'll just have to wait until the live performances to find out. There was certainly a review though where they said it was split line production. If it is there it's certainly not all the way through the song. Just the first two verses.

i dont know about the split vocals( i dont think they are and be arsed to chuck it through software to find out), but this tune is highly produced. it sounds quite basic but is in probably the most produced tune on the album and like any good tune you wont here it (its hard to be lazy). can anybody else here the people in the background at the beginning??and theres a "come on" at 3.14 (sounds like its on the same track as the tambourine). im not looking for no hidden shit but there is a track runnin on the recording that has the band listening to it- (now i know im getting myself in trouble) like on "boneheads bank holiday" and at the end of "whatever" and Beatles stuff also it appears on blur's "out of time" you can here the same effect used differently.
believe the truth-or am i going nikki nakki nooooooooo!!!??

No, no... not so fast... before I even saw this thread I knew without a doubt that the person signing "who kicked a" and "who stole the" is Noel.

if i can figure out how to convert the cakewalk file to a usable format for you guys i'll post it (i'm still fairly new to the program so i'm kinda tinkering with everything)....and i may COMPLETELY have my head up my ass on this one....but i'm 90% positive that noel says "who kicked a" and "who stole the"...i got a few other opinions on it and everyone else has agreed too hearing just the vocals, but the rest of the verses are definately liams.

No, no... not so fast... before I even saw this thread I knew without a doubt that the person signing "who kicked a" and "who stole the" is Noel. Then you need to get a hearing aid or something. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's the truth. What would be the point anyway? Liam would be well capable of singing the first bit (as proved by the fact that HE DOES SING IT), and they'd look like a pair of idiots doing it live. This is a case of someone hearing a rumour a few weeks ago, it sticking in their brain, then listening out for something and convincing themselves that it's there. Incidentally, there is a case of "split-line production" or whatever it's called on the record. It's in Lyla, at the end of the final chorus when Liam sings "catch me when I falllllll", the first part of the "falllllll" is Liam which then fades into Noel finishing the word off.

Honestly though, does anyone actually give a shit about the finer points of production on one or two words?? Just enjoy the damn thing!!!!

basically what im saying is listen to the words 'WHO KICKED' in the opening line, and 'WHO STOLE' in the second line and i swear they are Noel singing before mixing into Liam to finish the line. Or am I losing it? YEah i know what you mean, i noticed that too!! But i reckon its Liam doing the whole line

Well you could argue that that isn't really "split line production", it's just Noel on the backing vocals holding the final note a lot longer than Liam does in the lead vocal. They did the same thing on the final chorus of D'You Know What I Mean? But we agree 100% on the vocals for LTBL: Liam sings the verses/choruses. Noel sings the middle bit. END OF STORY.

WOW and just when did you notice that?? I know I did the very first time I heard it off that shitty quality Polish radio rip... do you think that maybe, just maybe they did it that way because Liam couldn't have finished that falllllllllll vocal off if his life depended on it??? LMFAO Just like if MG was recorded tomorrow it would be Noel singin' the wellllllllllllllllllllll part, GET WITH IT, it's 2005, NOT 1995!!! GHEEEESSH!

At least I'm not hearing things that aren't there. Go and play the studio versions of Married With Children and Songbird until your ears bleed, then go and listen to Let There Be Love, then come back and say you still think it's Noel singing the first few words.
