Here's a full on honest review. Let me know what you think. Cheers!
TURN UP THE SUN
fairly average number save for some mega Liam vocals. needs to be a bit faster. it's just dying for a big fuck off guitar solo to take the song to another level. or at least a better chorus. it's a bit stale. pretty much if it wasn't for Liam's vocals it shouldn't be on the album. every other album's had a better opener. should be better live though. 7.5/10
MUCKY FINGERS
it's like Bob Dylan doing "I'm Waiting for the Man" isn't it? (like Noel said) definitely a bit of a new sound for oasis. lyrics are top. a good angry tune. stomp your feet, sing along type. but is it much better than "Force of Nature"?. i think with time people will rank them at about the same. usually Noel's songs work better on record, but this will be an absolute sing a long stomper live. have a feeling he might sing it in one of the encores towards the end. have a feeling it'll be a single too. not sure if it deserves? 8/10
LYLA
the beginning and all the verses are as oasis as you can get. you almost feel like you have another oasis classic coming on. but then the chorus kicks in. gotta say Noel got really lazy here with the 'heeey lylaaa' just like with 'hey now'. i duno if it's the lyrics on the chorus or the fact that the chorus doesn't climax as something like 'go let it out', but it just doesn't do it. i think it starts out like a rocker and loses it's feel with the poppyness of the chorus. noel said it's the poppiest thing they've done since 'roll with it' but needless to say 'roll with it' pisses over this. 7/10
LOVE LIKE A BOMB
one of the songs that seem to stick in your head. even on less than stellar songs it's gotta be said Liam's voice makes an impression. simply one of the finest singers of our time, if not the finest. however, this one's not a great song. definitely like the way it starts out, the lyrics and the vocals. but it just doesn't climax, doesn't take you where it intended to. if it becomes a #1 single like some people predict, it won't be for it's quality, but maybe for it's appeal to the ladies. i'm against releasing this as a single but i know they're probably set on it. 7/10
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING IDLE
the highlight of the album by almost anyone's account. the question is just how good is it? only time will tell. and by that i mean, will we rank it up there with DLBIA or the MP or Sad Song etc. although that may be a bit of a stretch, what's not to love about 'Idle'? it's something completely new for Noel done with effortless class. a happy, put a smile on your face summer tune that only the great songwriters can pull off with such ease. it's even a bit dancey. top lyrics too. it's gotta be said. simple, universal lyrics that are just SPOT ON with the vibe of the song. i know Noel wripped off 2 different La's songs but fuck it coz now this song is better than most anything they've ever done. It's probably something Ray Davies will be proud of too. 9/10
THE MEANING OF SOUL
loving it. just full on proper rock n roll. makes you wanna go out and just 'have it' in true oasis fashion. the guitars at the end are top, love how it's going 100 miles per hour. top drumming. top lyrics. great early rock n roll vibe. impressive by Liam. why not make it longer and bigger? 8 or 8.5/10
GUESS GOD THINKS I'M ABEL
what a fucking mega title AND TUNE! surprise of the album by far. Liam has finally hit his stride here. This one blows over 'Love Like a Bomb'. I hope this gets out as a single instead. The chord sequence is really strange but good! They way Liam pairs rainbow with Abel is fucking top. Love the way this tune builds up. great lyrics and vox. Love the "noone can break us" bits at the end as well as the "ahh"s in the background. 9/10
PART OF THE QUEU
i know i'll be in disagreement here, but this is boring as fuck to me. Noel needs to tread away from dadrock wank. lets not kid ourselelves, a few years ago this wouldn't even have been good enough for a b-side for his standards. even something recent like 'Shout It Loud' blows over this. 6/10
KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE
really strong track. i fucking love Liam's vox on the verses. this is really oasisy. Noel is right, it sounds like Andy Bell's been in oasis all his life. i like how he builds it into a bigger tune towards the end with the guitar solo and nanana's. i guess the chorus is all right. really hopeful, meaingful tune. i don't think it's single material but it's definitely one of the strong album tracks on this album. 8 or 8.5/10
A BELL WILL RING
seems like filler material to me. noone will remember this tune with time. it's not bad, but it's a b-side. simple as that. 6.5/10
LET THERE BE LOVE
when this first leaked, people went crazy. this definitely isn't one of the best oasis songs ever, not even close. a good comparison is 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out', nothing more, nothing less. if you ask me it's a bit too depressing in the vein of 'Roll It Over' which i thought was shit. are you gonna listen to this over and over? i know i wont be. i think if you're gonna do songs like these you have to go for it 100% and Noel should've sang his "come on baby blue" bits one more time and turned it into an anthem/sing along. now the ending is just empty and lacks something. not bad overall though. 7.5 or 8/10
Overall: 8/10
Better than Heathen Chemistry for the fact that overall there's more quality tunes and both 'Idle' and 'Abel' are better than anything on HC.
Rank it along the same lines as SOTSOG, a little below BHN. And far below DM and MG.

Agree with almost all of what you've got there except ABWR deserves at least 7.5 and I love LLAB.
Have to agree with you on Part of the Queue. I just don't get it
I'd give the album 8.5 overall and definitely prefer to the last 3 (and not just because its the newest - think it will definitely have longevity too)

Firstly I'd like to say BHN, SOTSOG, and HC were all rubbish as far as I'm concerned. Here's my review:
TUTS - Great opener, lovely melodic piano which soars into a heavy rock song. 8/10
Mucky Fingers - A compulsive foot tapper if nothing more - 7.5/10
Lyla - Again a foot tapper, but a really catchy melody if a little bit on the soulless side - 7/10
Love Like A Bomb - A wonderfully summery and uplifting song with quite a touching vocal by Liam - 8.5/10
The Importance of Being Idle - Its the Kinks and The La's as the Chief as said. You can't really get any better than that - 9/10
The Meaning Of Soul - Elvis with John Lydon's soul. Its short and like a smack in the face. Furious harmonica solo - 8.5/10
Guess God Thinks I'm Able - The standout track on the album. Great vocal and wonderfully structured with very good guitar work by Gem - 10/10
Part Of The Queue - Really wonderfully rhythmic and great words. Its a dancing song really. - 8/10
Keep The Dream Alive - Boring melody and not particuarly dynamic although the outro is very nice and akin to The Roses (no bad thing) - 5/10
A Bell Will Ring - Choppy guitar ala Harrison '67. Good Liam vocal and nice and melodic - 8/10
Let There Be Love - Lennonesque nearly to the point of being too derivative. A touching Liam vocal makes it greater than the sum of it's parts. Despite being a very very good song it feels a bit out of place on an otherwise short, poppy and snappy album - 8/10
overall 8.5/10
Better than WTSMG? in my opinion. Better crafted, more soulful songs (there's nothing as bad as Roll With It, Cast No Shadow on it)
Obviously ain't as good as DM. This is my honest opinion - I never really liked HC or SOTSOG at all on first listen and stand by those views. This is their best album since DM (for once The Chief is RIGHT)

FON - decent tune LBL - can't stand SIL - average
WDIAGW - mega SMC - can't stand

Part of The Queue is basically about Noel being part of a big vibrant city where everyone and anyone can make or break themselves. A place that just to get by every day you have to lose a bit of yourself. You have to compromise. You have to become as rude as the people who piss you off, give as good as you get. He's struggling to find his soul in a overpopulated see of people in a massive rush, but where are they going? They're in a massive rush just so they can start the same shit earlier tomorrow.
That's a poor explanation but everyone's leaving the office and i'll be fucked if i'm staying behind!
I dig it, I get it, bottom line.

Great explanation
fantastic song... the best on DBTT in my opinion. That driving acoustic guitar + piano... it's just all good
not to forget the "keep on trying" in the outro

i disagree with a lot of the original review (although the comments on Idle and Abel are close to my own, top songs - the 2 standout tracks)
how the hell you can compare Mucky Fingers to Force of Nature is beyond me...
why even compare them? baffling....
Queue is excellent in my opinion. the 'dadrock' tag is completely unjustified. probably one of the best rythym sections oasis have ever done
keep the dream alive - it isnt doing it for me anywhere near as much as the other songs. the melody of the verse is non existant! its the same note droning on and on. and the chorus everyone loves so much isnt that great - it sounds laboured to me. its a bside. only liam's voice and the outro saves it.
a bell will ring though is definitely much better than bside material. the guitar, drums and liam all sound amazing
meaning of soul - it works perfectly as a short song. why do so many people say it should be longer. if it was longer the impact and point would be lost...

My thoughts on the album:
Turn Up the Sun: It's got some nicely ringing guitar parts, but if this song was really trying to be a BRMC stomper...well it's shit in comparison. Boring verses, only the "for everyone" bit in chorus works well. Total wank, Oasis albums have always started off ripping but this was just a bust. 4/10
Mucky Fingers: A bit wierd to be imitating "the Boss" (I think he's piss anyway) but the song really grows into you after a few listens, very different for Oasis. 7/10
Lyla: We've all heard it, terrible pick for the single, and besides for song #1 it is the worst of the bunch. Well sung verse keeps it's head above water but the chorus is sickly forget-me pop. And its a 5 minute song that goes nowhere. 5/10
Love Like a Bomb: Now we're talking. If Oasis is releaseing pop singles they should be Liam songs. Not as good as his other two but still sticks with you. 7.5/10
Importance of Being Idle: I think we're all in agreement on this one, it's just plain awesome. The SOTSOG-esque production is pinched into proper form with this song, this song's breaks with oasis tradition are probably what makes it so interesting to listen to. The falsetto voices have never been used to this kind of effect on an Oasis album...in parts it almost sounds like, gasp, coldplay. 9/10
Meaning of Soul: Flat out rock and roll, rife with Liam over-pronounciation's ("I'll be your Liiieeghtuuh.") and fast guitars, best flat out rocker since SOTSOG's opening moments. Well get you banging. 8.5/10
Guess God Think's I'm Able: It's pretty simple, the production is understated, some of the lyrics are bum (rainbow?...come on now). But it's the best song on the album. And the hard rocking tease at the end really finishes it off with aplomb. That's right aplomb. Best Liam song ever. 9.5/10
Keep the Dream Alive: Andy Bell's second song isn't as bad as the first but it's kind of naff. It burns slowly, and Liams work in the verses is quite good. The chorus comes off as a strange too-pop bit, like Lyla. All of its spacey production can hardly cover up the bland song, which devolves into the na-na-na's that are trademarks of Oasis leaking-boat songs (Little James, All Around the World, etc.). The nice guitar pieces are wasted and probably should've been saved up for.... 6.5/10
A Bell Will Ring: I liked this song when it was first ripped from around Glastonbury, and it's only gotten better. It's faster and well sung. It has a very similar feel to KTDA, as it's Revolver era Beatles with harder guitars (and not as good sadly), but is much better than the song that preceds it. 7.5/10
Part of the Queue: I was kind of shocked when i first heard it, because it lifts so blatantly from Golden Brown. I'm not sure if you've heard it or not, but Golden Brown isn't a song you should probably lift from, because it's alot better than Queue. Still the Stranglers rythm is as foot tappingly catchy as ever and the piano and Verve-like singing during the last minute take it somewhere. Has a few bum lyrics just like most Oasis songs, but it hardly even detracts from it. 8/10
Let There Be Love: Here's a "flag waver" that thankully features understated production and penmanship over the usually Oasis tricks. It is not a Beer swilling anthem like Champaign Supernova, but the lines are delivered masterfully by both brothers, and the swelling strings blend in perfectly with Noels high voice, while Liam's soleful mid range ties all the ends into a neat package. It's five and a half minutes long but it feels like it slips by in seconds. At first listen I was dissapointed it didn't turn into a "Strawberry Fields" quiet rocker sort of song, where the peripheral instruments move from the fringes to take control and start commanding the song, but on LTBL even the jam at the end is tame, but this way is probably better. A good finish. 8.5/10

I can't be arsed to force my opinions on you fine people but I will say I've got the album and it's (by and large) fantastic and far better than SOTSOG and HC. I'm sorry but I've always had a soft spot for the over production ballsyness of BHN and I probably always will.
I agree that the Importance Of ...... Is such a great song but am I the only one that preferred the Let There Be Love acoustic demo? I preferred the original lyrics (they felt far more personal), when I heard it was being re-done for this album I was praying it would stay bare boned and stark like the amazing heart felt demo but they didn't do what I expected. It's still a great song and you can't take that away from Noel but dammit it could have been so much better.
Another thing is that don't you think Meaning of Soul is a little Jumping Jack Flash?
In fact, to me on 1st listen the whole album, with the exception of The Importance...., sounded like the Rolling Stones from the 60 or early 70's. I'm listening to it now.... I guess god thinks im abel. Could it be more Revolver?! Oh man, the more i listen to the album the more I love it. I love it so much I'm still buying a cd of it because Oasis deserve serious kudos for putting something out like this because I'll be honest I didn't have high expectations and it sounds nothing like I expected and that can only be a good thing.
Oasis mellow out 'shocker'. It's about fucking time.

i've only heard the 4 initial leaked songs and lyla, i'm definitely waiting for the cd to listen to the rest. love reading these reviews though, it sounds awesome. for me:
mucky fingers - hated it on first listen but now i freakin love it. turn it up loud like it's meant to be.
lyla - my girlfriend listens to this song over and over and shes not a big oasis fan. personally i think it's decent but not an opening single.
meaning of soul - everyone says its so good but i just don't get it. maybe i need to hear it without the clicks at the beginning like my version has.
keep the dream alive - one of my favorite oasis songs. i think this thing should be a single. liam's voice on the verses is excellent and the drumming is top notch. i'm sorry i ever knocked starkey. i really, really love this song.
let there be love - i was trying not to download it cause everyone said it was so amazing and i wanted to wait but fuck it. it's very good but it's no imagine that's for sure. i defeinitely prefer the lyrics to the demo and the part when noel comes in is fucking beautiful. great little song.

Here's a full on honest review. Let me know what you think. Cheers! GUESS GOD THINKS I'M ABEL what a fucking mega title AND TUNE! surprise of the album by far. 9/10 PART OF THE QUEU i know i'll be in disagreement here, but this is boring as fuck to me. Rank it along the same lines as SOTSOG, a little below BHN. And far below DM and MG. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel is an 8, not a 9. Part Of The Queue is one of the best Oasis songs in the last five years. It blows Shout It Out Loud out of the water. POTQ is not boring at all. I don't know what you're hearing but it's my favorite track on the album.... musically I rank it an 8.5. Keep The Dream Alive is a 7, simply because it gets old quick, just like (Probably) All In The Mind. You think you're going to give that tingle down your back in some big blowout ending and it never happens. Overrated. Love Like A Bomb kills this sound-a-like. I TOTALLY disagree with it being on the level of SOTSOG. Being an Oasis fan for 10+ years I feel that SOTSOG was by far their worst album. I never listen to any songs from in. In fact, I would rather listen to some of the b-sides from that time. Just look at the singles.... Who Feels Love? Sunday Morning Call? What was that shit! DBTT blows away SOTSOG, beat HC, and is steady with Be Here Now. Musically it's better than BHN. Does it beat the first two? No. Everything else I agree with you on.
