it's not that they're trying to compensate the people as such (record companies giving a fuck??!!)

in Japan the imports from America & Britain work out cheaper than the Japanese cds, so the only way to encourage people to buy the Japanese versions (which sees the money go back to Sony Japan) is to give them something extra
