personally im getting rather tierd of all this its not as good as WTSMG or DM !! You cant really compare with them yet, i mean they've been out for 10 years now and this album hasnt even been released yet!!! they have grown and grown instatue to what they are now. In fact i distictly remember WSTMG getting slated by some music press as it just wasnt up to DM now look at it 2nd biggest UK album of all time probably going to be the biggest very shortly and loved by all not just Oasis fans Form what ive heard (havnt heard the full album just a few short clips and a couple of the original leaks) it has serious potentail to reach the hieghts of classic album status, not just oasis classic just my personal view anyway

Hey everyones got an opinion...and heres mine....
...i'm absolutely lovin this album and I too think Lyla and Mucky Fingers are possibly the weakest on the album....now i say weak and not bad....because even these two tracks i love.......f@#k it!! This album is mega!

I think if the band just tried to make another record like all the rest they wouldn't survive much longer...theyve had to reinvent themselves and i think it sounds fookin MEGA! Love the new album

y'know what i'm dissapointed in? noels songs
i just dont like the songs he sing. i think liams songs are the stongest. andys are the popiest and gems is great stuff. but what happened noel?
this is still my favorite album since mg. i didnt like sotsog or hc this much when i first heard them. i think part of the problem is that liam only sings 1 and 1/2 of the songs noel writes. really different than 11 years ago when liam sung 100% of noels material. although people i've played this album to are going crazy, like absolutely mad over noels songs. i guess i just like the direct pop

Turn Up the Sun: Solid opener. I don't think it's single material, but I agree with the band that it's a great starter song.
Mucky Fingers: It's good, but I just can't like it as an Oasis tune - it sounds too much like Bob Dylan and not enough like Oasis. I can barely tell it's Noel singing.
Lyla: It's not a bad tune, but I agree that it's not even the 5th best tune on the album.
Love Like A Bomb: Not bad, but not great either. Maybe it's like Lyla and will grow on me.
The Importance of Being Idle: My favourite song on the album. Wonderful lyrics. A big departure from the traditional Oasis sound, but not so much as to sound out of place (a la Mucky Fingers, in my opinion).
The Meaning of Soul: This song sounds AMAZING now. When I heard the bootlegs from Glasto and Poole, I really didn't think this was any good. My fears were confirmed by that lousy leaked version. When I first heard it in good quality, I was stunned. Sounds absolutely amazing, and suddenly I could see what everyone was going on about last summer.
Guess God Thinks I'm Abel: Not my favourite by any stretch. It's one of the weaker tracks on the album. Not terrible though, just not great. It just sounds a little awkward to me.
Part of the Queue: Very nicely done song. The topic is a little odd, but I quite like the rhythm and sound of it.
Keep the Dream Alive: I can understand why people say it's a little boring, but I really like it. It's got a phenomenal soaring chorus that sounds great.
A Bell Will Ring: I liked this last year when I first heard it, and the studio version is awesome. I really like the sound of the guitar - the twangy/jangly sort of sound is perfect here. Although you can definately tell it was Gem who wrote it and not Noel - the intro just doesn't sound like something Noel would write. Very well executed.
Let There Be Love: 7 years in the making has done wonders for this song. The demo wasn't bad, but the final version just takes the cake. Awesome way to close out the album. Beautiful duet - although I'd like more swapping (ie. have Noel do more than one bit of the song).
8/10 Overall - It's a very solid album. Not their best by any means, but much better than the last two and it's just got a maturity to it that I really like. It'll be VERY interesting to see how they play this live, considering the number of acoustic and clean guitars the album has on it.

This album will disapoint some cos the traditional Oasis sing-a-long and solos aren't in abundance, but come on, we've had years and years of that and IMO by HC it was sounding tired and contrived. This album is a natural, from the heart record. Lyrically it lets you know what the members are feeling and most importantly the songs just fly by. This is a real album, all the songs fit and wouldn't be the same without each other. Oasis have moved on, and I love where they've gone, it's a shame that some long-term fans don't.

Don you souldn't be apologizing mate, that's your feel and that's all there is to it. I happen to disagree and I wish I could explain more where I'm coming from but I just sneaked on over my lunch break at work. Hey if we all liked exactly the same things this it'd be a pretty dull world!
Anyway, if it's any hope to you, it took me a while to get into WTSMG after DM believe it or not. First times I listened to it the album was met by a strange look from me. The rest....... well, I concur with every positive ever attributed to that album ;D

This album is awesome. Ok sounds cliche huh? Well I am 35 and I had my DM (which were still allowed to listen to ya know).
A debut should sound like a debut. They had their commercial darling w/ WTSMG. They had the bombast of BHN (which could have been produced better....songs were fine ...just a bit too long and turned to 11 on the volume knob).
They had the lineup change experimental SOTSOG.
Thye had a return to form w/ a combo of a few of them w/ HC (people who don't like that album are really starnge).
DBTT is incredibly. It has a sound of a bands 6th album. More musical, takes different directions.
There's no FON (oasis's worst) on this album.

Why does everybody hate Force of Nature? SMOKIN ALLL MYY STASSSHH.
I really love this album. Unlike Heathen Chemistry, it FLOWS nicely, and has some AWESOME tunes. It's a different style that Oasis has never touched before. Love it.
Turn Up the Sun is a great opener. Love it. Mucky Fingers is A GREAT song. Lyla is a good single, not the best song. Love Like a Bomb is a top tune. IOBI is among Oasis' best. The Meaning of Soul is such a stomper. LOVE IT. Wish it were longer. Guess God THinks I'm Abel = 0_0 Amazing. Part of the Queue is such a good song. Keep the Dream Alive is like Lyla for me. A Bell Will Ring is so awesome. I love it. Let There Be Love is a great anthem. Beautiful song.
I don't know how anybody can be disappointed. Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory were top. Be Here Now wasn't as classic, but it was still good. SOSOG was a venture at something new, and they succeeded for the most part except three songs (which if replaced by b-sides--could have made it a TOP album). Heathen Chemistry was trying to be a Definitely Maybe or WTSMG. It wasn't natural. It didn't flow. There was like 4 amazing tunes, and it just didn't sound very together, but this one sounds very natural. Love it.

You're on crack. POTQ , TIOBI, and GGTIA are much better than Lyla or MF.
nit I guess that only my crazy opinion.

LYLA IS TOO FREAKING LONG! It never ends. it does go on for 5 minutes...3minutes and change might have made it more pop radio freindly..but noel does love to make 5 minute tunes.... i agree though i think it would be tighter if it was like 4 minutes

This album kicks ass but just don't get the last 30 min of GGTIA that Noel was talking about.. maybe they should've made it longer.. it ends too suddenly.. but well..

sorry people, but i ve listened to this album over and over all night and most of today - and i just cant get into it at all - only songs i like are mucky fingers and lyla - the rest to me are very average although a bell will ring has come a long way since poole 2004. i also think eyeball tickler should have been on there. this is my opinion so please dont slate me oover this. i just prefer the thrasing guitars to semi acoustic stuff. you know what, i'm in the same boat. I'm not impressed and think the album is rather mediocre. I don't hate it but its not great. Eyeball tickler is the best thing this side of Hindu times i have heard

The album is in a different league to HC and SOTSOG, and to some extent BHN.
It's what you call a grower folks. Give it a chance.

I like the album, but I could do without The Importance Of Being Idle and The Meaning of Soul. I think the Meaning of Soul would sound a lot better in electric rather than in acoustic.
