They say Ringo Starr's favorite song is ABWR. Surprising, seeing as the verse (is that what you call it?) of GGTIA sounds melodiously exactly like Ringo's "I Want To Be Your Man." Anyone else notice that?

Anyone else notice that? Yeah, I noticed that from the clip awhile back. I am a Beatles junky also so I can hear many resemblances in a lot of Oasis songs. Who cares, Noel and Liam make it sound fresh.

I agree with you all. Noel and Liam do make it sound fresh. So? So nothin'. Just an observation. I love the song. I don't even like "I Want To Be Your Man." So Liam's doing Ringo a favor, really.

I mean what the fudge. There is an entire Genre or 2 (Rap-hip Hop & Pop) that basically sample entire parts of songs and NO One cares.
Oasis gets accused of sounding like their heroes in small bits and pieces or lines like 'Helter Skelter" or 'Fool On A Hill and I feel fine'.
These borrows except for Shakermaker (clever i thought) and Cigs & Alcohol (t rex riff) never really affect the whole song.
I can tell u this almost NO one under 35 in U.S or maybe even older than that will know who this Stranglers band is w/ the Golden Brown-POTQ thing.
Someone always sounds like someone else.

That's true.... usually. There are those who are totally originals. But you can't expect that of musicians. It's a special thing. Otherwise, let your influences show all you want, as long as you've got the goods to back it up (and Oasis certainly do).
