That some of the songs on DBTT sound like Born on a different Cloud? I mean like that piano and sorta John Lennon thing going on? I didnt like BOADC when I first got HC but later i loved it, its one of my favorites because of the part where he sings "Loooowwwwnely Souls" and the way the music kicks back in is magical.

I've always thought that I can see a Liar was okay. Never grew on me.
Born on a Different cloud was instant though. I did NOT download the leaked tracks to Heathen Chemistry. Then again, I didn't go to forums in 2002. I didn't read much about the album-- I wanted the new Oasis to be fresh to me. So after I heard it, I was like...Christ. Wait, didn't Liam write this?
And I was like fuck, he did. I was in shock that he wrote the best song off the album. The song I got most excited about was Guess God Thinks I'm Abel when I heard about it. And from the preview, that and Importance of Being Idle are my most anticipated tracks.

If anyone has seen the Definetely Maybe Dvd and watched all the interviews (which seems like a foolish question on this forum) Noel is talking about when he was writing "Live Forever" and Liam suggested that "lately" should be "baby." Noel condescendingly scoffs at Liam's past suggestion and says that he'd never write a song with "baby." Then came along "I can see a liar"... ?

If you noticed on the webcast, somebody asked Noel about getting writer's block. He replied that the only thing to do when that happens is just to write your way through it, because everybody has bad songs in them. So instead of keeping those bad songs inside of him, he just writes them and gets them out of him. Didn't Noel himself say when SOTSOG was released that he had written 2 craps songs onto the album. If he felt that way about them, it was probably an example of what he says he does. The only difference is, he decided to keep them, instead of just writing them and leaving them behind. Maybe this doesn't make sense, but if you watched the webcast, you might understand what I'm talking about.

I watched the webcast, I understand, im not knocking Noel in any way other than he did write a few crap songs, I can see a liar has never grown in any way on me and it's my least favorite Oasis song...that's it.

I would've taken Let's All Make Believe, Carry Us All, or One Way Road on the album instead of I Can See A Liar and Put Yer Money.. anyday. To this day I skip those 2 songs, although I tend to listen to them on the SOTSOG Demos collection.

He said he doesn't like Whatever anymore. That's a BIG disappointment I think Noel is quite impulsive guy, if you know what I mean? He might say things very quickly and not think about it. So my point is that, one day he might like Whatever and some other day not. And same with Roll with it also. Just my opinion.

He could be impulsive... or he could be like us (normal human beings). We all like the majority (i like ALL) of the Oasis songs.
We all say how our favourite or most listened to songs change frequently, he probably forgets about songs (not completely but you get my drift) and when is reminded think 'oh yeah, i do like that'.
I'm sure Liam is sick of Wonderwall. Nirvana got sick after Smells Like Teen Spirit and in the end refused to play it (this was only after about a year). Imagine how boring Wonderwall must have been for Liam in 1996 (the amount of times they played it in gigs, talkshows etc.)

He said he doesn't like Whatever anymore. That's a BIG disappointment so what if he doesn't like it. doesn't mean you have to not like it too.

I think he may have changed his tune now, with Liam writing some of the tracks on DBTT.
