it's the only song on this album that will get airplay on US radio. Don't really think that will dictate the decision although maybe it'll just be released over there. I'd like the 2nd to be Turn Up The Sun cos it sounds like a good summer tune or Love Like A Bomb

Mucky Fingers is a great tune, but it doesn't even have a proper chorus. Which isn't good for a single.

From the clips we've heard of the other songs on the album, I would say that there are other songs that deserve to be singles rather than Mucky Fingers. It's not a bad tune, and I'm actually starting to like it even more, but I don't think that it's single material.

Only Dylan could get away with releasing a single like that.

Mucky Fingers feels like something new and fresh that alot of people would open up too. I think releasing a typical sounding Oasis tune would give people an excuse to write it off and say "same old Oasis" and "nothing new here" before giving the album a chance. Releasing lyla as the first single was bad enough.

After watching Noel's webchat, I don't have any question in my mind that Mucky Fingers WILL be the 2nd single, at least if Noel is still in control of the band. Several times during the chat he was talking about how great he thinks that song is. (And he is right by the way) Even though I agree that other songs would probably make better singles, I'm willing to bet on this one. At one point Noel was asked "What is your favorite Oasis song?" His answer-- "Mucky Fingers." And he wasn't being asked what his favorite song was on the new album, he was being asked what his favorite Oasis song was. Interesting.

I wouldn't be overly suprised if 3 of the 4 leaked tracks were singles, Let there Be Love should be the 4th single, Mucky Fingers will be a single which I aint too chuffed about, and KTDA is IMO single material. But from the sounds of the clips I've heard theres plenty of better songs like Turn Up The Sun, Love Like a Bomb, Guess God Thinks I'm Able and The Importance of Being Idle. They could release 6 or 7 singles from this album probably!

I know that Noel spoke very highly of Mucky on the webchat. It just means that he likes it (same as me). He also thinks of Gas panic as one of his best tunes, but he never made it a single. I believe Noel's got a very realistic view on what songs are gonna make it on the charts.

Mucky Fingers is absolutely amazing. It should definitely be a single.

I'd like the 2nd to be Turn Up The Sun cos it sounds like a good summer tune or Love Like A Bomb Turn Up The Sun - defo! It's rockin! Would also like to see Mucky Fingers released, even if it is a crap name for a great song!

It's Noel's favorite song at the moment. I think it has a chance to be a single.

I concur.
Of the five songs I've heard so far it's definitely the best.

awesome song
i love it when it kicks into this part -
"Failed at life in the city Cause all the phony’s have wronged my mind When I’m gone, yeah, you looked like you missed me So come along with me and don’t ask why
Cause it’s alright!"
its sooo good. and that harmonica sound could not be better.
"You found your God in a paper bag You get your history from the Union Jack"
ive never heard anything this good in a long time. i wish someone would put us all out our misery and leak the cock sucking album!!!!!!!!! ;D
i just want to hear Guess God Thinks Im Abel - so bad...

Didn't Noel say in the news that he was dissatisfied with Sony because they don't even let the band choose their own singles? So Lyla wasn't even his first choice, and therefore regardless of him liking Mucky Fingers if Sony don't, then too bad Noel...
Noel hates Roll with it and that was a single too...

But it doesn't really does it, as that is a much more mellow song, its the same drum beat thats all played in a more aggressive style!!

has anyone noticed it sounds extremely similar to velvet underground's "waiting for the man"? Like Noel said, it's like the Velvet Underground with Bob Dylan doing the vocals.

Sorry, but I can't stand it. I want to like it but I just can't stand it at all. Vox are terrible, drums and guitar are beyond repetitive, corny name for a song, no chorus whatsoever. Just a really annoying song, imo. It reminds me of McCartney Temporary Secretary as an abismal and annoying song from a genius song writer.
I aslo can't stand the way Noel screams "It's alriiiiight" over and over, very whiney.
