wasn't the coldplay record put back by the record company along with the gorillaz so they could be put towards a different years figures!?!?! I'm pretty sure thats why it was done. Both artists albums were ready months ago and it was a executive decision i believe?

yeah. i was wondering why it was so closely released. and as much as i love oasis, i cant really see it staying at the top of the charts when coldplay release theirs. i am referring to the british charts here btw. i mean i dont know much about the state of music there as such, but its kinda the gist i have picked up from reading articles.
but yeah, i always thought coldplay had immense respect for oasis and this kinda confirms it for me.
so yes, i suppose it must have been an executive decision of some sort -.-
lol, its always so much easier to like bands to respect oasis! it prolly shouldnt be a factor but its true
