I think its alot better than the last two.
Not sure how it compares to Be Here Now until I hear the rest of the songs.
Its not as good as Morning Glory IMO.

Well it's his opinion I guess. Remember Noel hates BHN and Liam Loves BHN.
Liam thinks MG is overrated and doesn't like his voice on DM.
The consensus with 1000's of people own Oasis polls over ten years and numerous fan sites is that Oasis fans prefer the albums in this order:
DM MG BHN HC SOTSOG
That's based on probably every response counted once.
Yes, all of those have been rated someones fave.
I am sure that even DM & MG have been someones least (but i have never seen it).
So..............back to the question. Best since DM?
Well HC was most recent so he likes this better. He said he htes BHN & SOTSOG had'two shit tracks' as Noel described.
He also hates (other than Wonderwall, DLBIA,SMS & Champagne) Morning Glory.
So yes in his calculations it is.
But................do we agree with Noel on his opinions of the others.
From what I've heard it's very good.
It will not be as commercial as MG, but a lot of people who own that album ONLY own that Oasis album, and do they count?

definitely as varied as 5 songs can get 4 certain. Could very well be a circus of a record...something for everyone that is. very interesting first set of songs.

The importance of being idle and turn up the sun are supposed to be very strong. Therefore it's hard to say what what the whole album will be like. I really like what I've heard so far though. LTBL and mucky are fucking amazing

Depends totally on the comparison, if you're comparing these five to the likes of Little By Little, SCYHO, She is Love, etc. They are incredible...otherwise, I don't know, Let There Be Love sounds like it could almost be great if it just had something more to it. I mean if you want to write a strawberry fields you've got to have that same kind of rocking-wthout-guitars that George Martin pulled off, not just flutes and piano the whole time. Still as far as slow Oasis songs are concerned this is probably the best since Masterplan atleast.
Meaning of Soul, when at proper volume and bitrate will be awesome too. I'm thinking Liam should take over writing the bulk of the songs, besides for Little James none of them are bad and most of them are amazing.
Mucky fingers, is just plain odd. Like the Who forgot how to play their instruments and coincidentally invited 'The Boss' to a sing along. I like it more very time though.
Keep the dream alive is the dregs, unless repeat listens will do something.
And we all know how shit Lyla is.
I hope they pull it off in the end.

Oh, and I'm not sure who said they are sounding more like an American band but it's distressingly true. Especially Lyla and Keep the Dream alive--strange things are happening.

KTDA sounds like an american song cuz it was written by andy bell whos perpetually trapped in the 90s. Mucky Fingers is great though, a page right out of the Velvet Underground with a frantic who drum beat as noel does his best dylan impression, fuck bruce springstein. Lyla gets such a bum rap but its not a bad song! Its a decent stomper, it would be alot better if it had a real guitar solo but I think Noel's aging a little faster than he'd like

I really like the song but its just simple and easy. I told my little bro (he's 7 and he's learning to play piano) if he could play those three chords A D E and he said no problem, I played guitar... and it sounded right... we just need a drummer and a bass player........ lol!

How true! - a circus of a record is a spot on observation in my opinion. Is is the best since DM? That's a matter of personal opinion and hey, everyone's got one... But do I think that this album will get more wide spread attebtion that the last two or three - definately based on what I've heard so far.

Just because hes not american doesnt mean he doesnt make american sounding music. My point was that andy bells music style sounds as though hes trapped in the 90s, the american nineties for you pedantic folk ;_

Hurricane #1 sounded very UK to me. What american acts are you comparing him to anyway?

The intro and verses on KTDA kinda sound like something Hootie and the Blowfish would do(that kind sucks I know), with the exception of Liam's voice . jmo.

pearl jam comes to mind actually, haha hootie too, im not sure if youre UK or american but KTDA has all the cliche elements of a standard American nineties rock song. Tahts not necessarily a bad thing, but ithe fills the progression, everything sans liams sneer sounds like it would fit perfectly in with any of those acts.

Yeah, as an American I definitely think KTDA has a similiar sound to some of the nineties bands, not grunge, but bands similiar to Hootie.

I don't know.
Liam doesn't like his voice on DM? Wow. I LOVEE his voice. So crisp and clear from that era. He had a lot of range.

On the FTM DVD in the interviews he said (Liam) he didn't like his voice on DM.
When DM came out I was 25 and I was blown away. I know that there were probably a lot of kids like 14 or 15 that are in the mid twenties now that still want DM and it's bluster. I sometimes do too. Well guess what, you can still play it.
I like the way the songs are now. I like HC as much as MG and better than SOTSOG or BHN.
What I have heard so far I like.
Noel is almost 38. DM will not be written again. If he tried he would be faking it b/c you can't match a debut album.
They were nobodies writing about drinking and drugs and parties w/ their friends. That's over.
