i also hate the term: Dad Rock Definition is obvious, obviously lol. Music your dad would listen too. Usually embarrasing. I know my dad would never enjoy Mucky Fingers -- on the other hand, the DBTT was in the car when he was driving, and he asked me "who's the band that's in the CD player in the car? They're pretty good" Damn.

Why is everyone so against "dad rock"?? I love classic rock and the fact Oasis is slowly moving towards that is awesome in my eyes. However, I know to most Oasis fans, they're kind of like our version of The Beatles and I'm sure our parents didn't want The Beatles sounding like the stuff their parents listened to so I hear where you guys are coming from...but like I said before, I think it's awesome they're going more in that direction. And don't undestimate the effect Zak has on that...his drumming is VERY 60's influenced and there's no doubt he's got a lot to do with it

I can't say I have listened to Revolver or Beggars Banquet but in general music made 40 years ago doesn't do it for me. I like the Beatles and The Stones but times have moved on . To me DM was so fresh and innovative- I hadn't (or still haven't) heard anything as fresh or just plain brilliant since. I juts want to hear another oasis album which does that for me again. DBTT was OK but a little dull.
I am encouraged that they seem to have got their ambition and cockyness back. oasis are at their best when they are confident and want to be the biggest group in the world. So hopeflly they will deliver on this one.
Another group which started at the same time or even before oasis, radiohead, have just released in rainbows a brilliant album ( I think its stunning ), almost up to the bends and OK Computer. So bands can do it after 10 plus years!!
Come on oasis give us stadium filling ambitious music this time!

I can't say I have listened to Revolver or Beggars Banquet If the new Oasis album is even half as good as Revolver I will eat the CD and put the video of me doing it on YouTube.

With Noel running out of things to write about these days. All we can hope is that we get 4 solid tunes from him and a couple from from the others. The rest you can call throwaways. That is what has happened, the quality of the throwaways has gone down. The B-Sides were album worthy and albums were good songs 1-12.
in spite of that, the album will be better than anything out there.

Oh man I'm totally going to hold you to that. That's wonderful. If it's equally as good, will you eat the vinyl version of the album?
