if you all look at the hmv site, type in radiohead & look at their albums,in rainbows is set for release but the date aint confirmed yet.if that's the case then it's ok.obviously fans of oasis or radiohead will wanna buy the real deal, elvis & the beatles will never be beaten for cd sales now.internet should be for just live gigs if anything.maybe if cd's were £5 when they're released people would buy more? More people would get the album if it was free. Just maybe. Don't get me wrong, I always try to buy CDs, but I don't see anything wrong if Oasis would actually decide to go the same way.

I guess I'm old-school, but I like CD's and I like being able to play them in my car when I'm cruisin'. (going to work) Maybe the new album will usher the return of 8-track tapes.

I want to buy a cd and smell it when I first open it. fuck downloads. I download the stuff it's not worth spending 30 bucks on. after 12 years+ of being a fan I think I deserve something better than a fuckin .mp3 bought with a credit card I don't even have nor I'm willing to get for one fuckin song/album i totally agree i want a real CD me too

There will be a real cd, a discbox set like Radiohead did. But, like it or not, I am certain that Oasis will go this route as well. Like Radiohead, they are big enough to not need a label, and they have enough big fans that will put out $80 for a discbox of their new album and make $20-$40 million off of alone. Not counting the money people "donate" for the mp3's.
This is the new wave folks.

all of this internet d-load hype becomes even more ironic when you consider the fact that noel pretty much openly abhors it (the i-net) and probably couldn't set up or check an email account to save his life. Personally, I've always loved getting cd booklets signed at shows and then displaying em at my place (god bless their mediocre popularity in the u.s.!) .
It is hard to believe that they'll do in the practice altogether, but it is bs nonetheless.
