The review is from Pitchfork who seem to hate everything Oasis made since Morning Glory and have a wank fest over nearly any indie band.
I'm not fussed about their opinion.

well, the video was cool but wasn't anything we didn't see on the LDSMD doc on channel 4. Good song though, why wasn't it on DBTT?
ya and that reviewer loves Keane and the Klaxons I'm sure

I thought the bloke was making a fair point. The video and Velvet Underground influences yes, but other then that no. Everything is subjective and all he said was it wouldn't merit a B-Side with no apparent reason why. They also, again, wank over Radiohead. I can't believe how much those people love Radiohead, but that's another topic.

The song seems to be Noel continuing a bluesy direction in the same vein as 'Force of Nature' and 'Mucky Fingers'.
I really liked 'Mucky Fingers' but I'm not wild about the other two. LDSMD is a bit boring IMO and I prefer hearing Liam sing Oasis songs - he seems to have been a bit wasted in the last few years with not many truly great songs to sing which is a real shame.

Radiohead is making people turn on their heads??? By what? Their marketing? Charlatans are doing the same thing.
They said nothing about Radioheads new music. I can't listen to them now.

Sorry, I really wanted to love it but I honestly can't rave about it. Its a bit of a dirge isn't it??
I look on it as an experiment by Noel on selling music by the internet. Its a one off and something to promote the DVD.
I can see why they left it of DBTT and hope this isn't a indication of the new album. I am so bored with oasis does the Blues thing. Please give us some stadium filling contemporary rock . Yes Mucky Fingers is in the same vein and I skip that one evry time as its the worst on the album I think.
I don't think I will be buying this one either, just wait for the DVD.

Everything is subjective and all he said was it wouldn't merit a B-Side with no apparent reason why. Because it's not good enough. Seems pretty obvious to me that's what they were getting at. If I'd written that song, I wouldn't even take it into the rehearsal room. I agree on the Radiohead point, though (over-rated, perhaps?).

Mucky Fingers has not aged well. I mean let's be honest it's a pretty lame piece of music. I always skip it. Listening back to DBTT the other day I really do still like so much about it. The variety of the songs. Mucky Fingers is an immediate skip though. What is it, three chords?! At least put Zach's live outro in, that made it interesting. With the new single, I don't know. Liam is what gets me excited these days. Lyla got me excited. Any Liam written song I find interesting, love like a bomb, etc. Noel has transitioned into an elder statesman now, Liam is the firebrand. Someone needs to light a fire under Noel's ass to stop his moving into more Dad rock.

i dont think Mucky Fingers is 3 chords, pretty sure it changes at one point. Columbia IS 3 chords all the way thru, still an amazin tune! i reali like MF anyway and i love LDSMD, the new direction is top wot wi LDSMD and that otha track that we hear Noel sing on the DVD. Think the new record cud be best since Def Maybe...haha OJ but no i seriously think it will be good, probs best since Be Here Now.

You are right Columbia is 3 chords. However there are usually 1 or 2 lead parts going on at once, and it has Liam's vocal, one high one low, singing over each other during the chorus. Brilliant. Columbia is really more of a jam song, mucky fingers I don't know what the hell that is.

I don't like the direction in which Noel is going. Force of Nature, Mucky Fingers, LDSMD and anything of the sort aren't really anything special. Should have been stuck on as some b-sides.

I kinda like MF though. It would've been a great b-side along with LDSMD, she is love, etc

It is apparent that he doesn't think it's good, but why? I don't really see a reason. I'd go into the "blah blah blah lets see you write a better tune", but that's just a stupid argument.

MF seems good live, mainly due to the mental drum outro! thats insane....

Well maybe it's cos I'm a big fan of Dylan, Velvet Underground and 'Americana' in general, but I love both LDSMD and MF. It's certainly not the sort of music that got me loving Oasis in the first place, but every songwriter evolves in some way over the years, and if this is where Noel is going I'm perfectly happy.
I'd certainly much rather this than any of the formulaic pish that they were releasing earlier on this decade.

I love Mucky Fingers - Should have been the opening track
LDSMD is okay at best The chorus is pretty weak, which is usually a strong point for Noel

We need some more cocain rock tunes! When i listen to Oasis i want to feel like a rockstar, not some bluesy hippie. Maybe then should start taking drugs again

lord dont slow me down! hmmh....b. side in the old days. fair enough! the old days were twelve years ago when they were in their prime??
we can never go back to those days because they are long gone and rock n roll is at its best at the beginning.
noel will never write a song as great as "live forever" at this late stage of his life! that is just the way of rock n roll!
me, i love the new song! dont expect too much and you wont be let down.
