Excellent. I've got a really good feeling about this album for some reason.

Question for everyone:
Does it matter for anyone if every song had already been written for the DBTT sessions and they are just recording for a new album? Would you like to know that 'new' songs have been imagined and written based on how things in life and with the band are now?
If they had 60 + songs from DBTT era they could release 1/3 every 2 years or so for 3 albums worth and they would all be from the same era. I guess if they never told us we'd never know!

I love how Noel keeps calling this album "Huge". I long for the days of Champagne Supernova and Be Here Now...

I remember Noel saying on SoccerAm a while back that he had just written a couple of "belters"... One could assume that those would make in on.

I wonder who's paying for the recording time. I don't believe they have a new label signed yet? Or do you think Noels just bankrolling the whole thing and its gonna come out on Sour Mash?

Thats what im thinking. Im no expert on the matter but do they real need a label? Nowadays even new bands can do it themselves so i dont see any reason why Oasis can't.

First three albums were written by Noel before DM (well, there are songs like DLBIA which were new material, but the most of them was written before). I thnik DBTT era was good for Noel written songs, so bring more of them! (but on the other side it woul be good to hear some recent proofs that they still got it:))

Yeah but DBTT wasn't brilliant and if those songs were the best of the bunch (along with LDSMD, Boy with the blues and stop the clocks) i'm thinking the rest are pretty shit, no offence.
Let There Be Love is the worst song in Oasis's entire canon, its awful (note: personal opinion)and that wasn't even a new one but took precedence over the other 60 odd songs that they had.

In my opinion DBTT era was way better than HC era. DBTT sounds more compact than the previous record, and I am not skipping any tracks (except Lyla and Turn up the sun which I don´t like very much) It can´t be the same as in 90´s, because they are not young anymore. But they reached some kind of quality that is very similar to late U2, late McCartney and so on....like it´s not original and fresh but you can bet that it quality.

DBTT is brilliant, you have to listen to it from start to finish, it has a great flow and the songs are very strong

nowherelad, I hear you on let there be love. I have always found it to be the WORST song Oasis ever put their name on. It's just so maudlin, trite, and just....blah. Maybe it's the production, I don't know. Stop Crying your heart out could have been similar but instead it is really good. I don't get it.

Wow, you guys are being real harsh on let there be love. I think its a great song. Nowhere near there worst. (Put Your Money Where..., Full On, the Quiet Ones, Little James, etc.)
DBTT is a great listen (it only gets slow near the end with keep the dream alive-a bell will ring non-noel moments) and I listen to far more often then the previous two. I am really looking forward to an album in 2008 that hopefully includes boy with the blues, stop the clocks (for fucks sake!!), Lord Don't Slow Me Down (and that little bit of a song that noel is heard singing in the film), one or two of the 'belters' noel claims to have written a few weeks ago, the three best songs from thier '60 odd songs' from the dbtt sessions and a couple of new ones (and maybe Solve My Mystery and or Who Put the Weight...?)

Yeah holdonecho i agree those songs are all crap aswell. But i suppose thats comparing them to the rest of Oasis's songs, for any other band they would seem alright.

DBTT is brilliant, you have to listen to it from start to finish, it has a great flow and the songs are very strong I agree, when you listen to the album as a whole, only DM is better than DBTT. The only problem with DBTT is that it doesn't have those charismatic, standout tunes (like live forever on DM, wonderwall & Champagne Supernova on MG, scyho on HC, etc). I think Lyla was supposed to be this, but the song just isn't powerful enough.

Heres hoping this new album will be massive- in every sense of the word. Massive sales, massive sound and massive songs
For me what's been missing since BHN (which may be had to much of it) is that umm... Stadium filling production feel. I'm not a music expert but all subsequent albums sound small and folksy (almost) Yes its difficult to fault the songs, they are OK and up to what most groups put out, but they sound small and insignificant. DBTT was OK but I don't listen to it, HC or SOTSOG much (if at all). I keep going back to DM, MG and TMP.
U2 have never sounded small, when you here a new album from them you can hear it filling wembley. Can you say that of the last 3 oasis albums?? I saw u2 at Telstra Stadium last year and they were amazing.
I just want them to get their ambition back. I loved it when they said they were going to be bigger than the Beatles. When I saw them at Loch Lomand me and most people there thought they really were watching the next Beatles-You felt you were in the presence of greatness. Didn't fell the same way a year or so back when they came to Sydney though. I did feel the same way when I saw Noel and Gem (4th row from the front) at the Enmore Theatre last December mind.
