Oh Happy Day!!!
I'd love to see Owen Morris too- I can't understand why they don't work together when OM latst work includes producing The Fratellis and The View both guitar bands in the oasis mould

Maybe Owen Morris is still on the powder... Noel might wanna keep his distance from that sort of activity.

Noel's probably thinkin...'let's get this out now before Liam's voice goes any more shit'... Let's hope so. I'd like to go on another Oasis trip next summer.

I'm not a studio guru at all but how much difference would one producer over another have really made the difference with albums like BHN, SOTSOG & DBTT?
Noel wants the songs to sound the way he intends them to...... so why major favoritism from one to the other???
Now if the producer actually has his hand in changing the 'style' of the band or types of songs like Rick Rubin did with The Cult for the 'Electric' album(changing the The Cults overall style from the 'Love' album to suit the U.S. audience......which I liked LOVE better) or the producer (forget name) who convinced Metallica to change the speed metal way of the past for the 'Black' albums style.
I doubt any producer has changed Noel's ideas of his songs or structure.

I doubt any producer has changed Noel's ideas of his songs or structure. I kind of agree and disagree at the same time. While yea obviously the general theme of the record is determined by Noel, I think each producer puts their own stamp on the record. Owen Morris' trademark and what became Oasis' trademark was the having the amps turned all the way up and the huge wall of sound. Mark Stent obviously changed the Oasis sound quite a bit with SOTSOG. And even though Oasis was down 2 members during that record, I don't think that really had any effect on the fact it turned out to be a very electronic, psychedelic album. I think that was just part of Mark Stent's vision, and Noel's openess to experiment. I think we all saw the big difference between SOTSOG and HC...It was definitely more of that original Oasis sounds...any coincidence that Noel was the only producer on that album? Then all of a sudden their sound changes again with DBTT...Once again, any coincidence it was a different producer? Also considering Noel's said recently he really enjoys letting someone else produce the records now since it's so much work, I think Dave Sardy's gonna have alot more influence on this record than some may think. However, like I said in the beginning...the final say is still with Noel.

Is it safe to say that some of the tunes that are gonna be on this album are "left-overs" from the 66 demoed songs for the DBTT sessions? If so, maybe Dave Sardy has already heard and is a little familiar with them... That might make the recording of this album rather quick. One can hope. In any event, I'm glad that they will have a producer and not depend on Noel to do it. Also, Dave Sardy appears to be a pretty big fan of the band so he knows what sound they are onto.
