HE'S always had plenty to say for himself, but this time it looks like Noel Gallagher regrets being quite so outspoken.
The 40-year-old Oasis star had a run-in with Jude Law after mocking him for wearing a smart suit to a rock festival.
Grungy Noel thought he was being funny when he asked the 33-year-old actor: "What do you think this is, mate, fancy dress? Who have you come as?"
But the joke backfired when Hollywood heart-throb Jude looked crestfallen and solemnly replied: "I've just been to a funeral, mate."
Still, the evening ended a bit better for Jude - later that night he was getting cosy with White Stripes drummer Meg White.
Stunned celebs, including Jude's ex Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley, and Rhys Ifans, looked horrified when Noel dropped the clanger backstage at the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park on Thursday.
Poor Jude was distraught and went to turn away as Noel tried to comfort him.
Our mole tells us: "Jude looked mortified and really uncomfortable. He said, 'I know I look out of place but I've just been to a funeral. It's been a really sad day actually. I knew the only thing that would cheer me up was coming here to see the White Stripes. I didn't even think about getting changed first'."
Noel was lost for words and started spluttering an apology, but Jude wasn't going to be won over that easily.
Says our spy: "It was really awkward and Jude kept fiddling with his tie. Then Noel got all sensitive and put his arm around a forlorn Jude and led him to the bar. They had a heart-to-heart for half an hour, before Noel led him backstage to meet the other bands before the White Stripes came on."
It just wasn't Jude's day when it came to avoiding awkward situations. After the blowup with Noel, he then had to keep away from his former fiancee Sienna.
At least while Noel was grovelling to him backstage he didn't have to talk to her. Then organisers tried to get him to go the VIP tent to pick up a free 02 Cocoon phone - but he gave it a miss because Sienna was there.
We're told: "When Jude heard that Sienna was in the VIP lounge he turned them down.
"He wasn't feeling himself and kept asking people if he looked OK in his suit while everyone else was in jeans and trainers."
But Jude had the last laugh when he had a great time with new best friend Meg at the band's after show party at the Grosvenor Hotel.
And we all know how ladies like a chap in a suit...

What utter shit. If you read the article, no where does it say Jude was angry, or how they hate each other or anything like that. Fuckin tabloids exaggerate everything.

What is is about this story that people find hard to believe?
Take it from me, if you're as outspoken as Noel is you can come a cropper. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it's generally catastrophic.

jesus, as soon as the tabloids start talking how noel slagged the queen off, you lot fuckin lap it up like theres no tomorrow but of course, this cant be true....damn tabloids!!!!!!!!!  |

To be fair.. They say that Noel took him to the bar.... best medicine.
They weren't actually that bad but claiming Noel 'grovelled for forgiveness' is a little far-fetched.
