Terry Kirkbride. I guess Zak was busy with something and i think that this to me was one of the warning signs that this is not the band we all love anymore. their next album is their make or break, their last shot to truly prove to us that they were really worth it for all of this. What's all this 'we' and 'us' stuff? I'l talk for myself thanks, and I say it's fuckin great.

Yeah, if the next album isn't all that great I don't think that it would mean that "all of this wasn't worth it" lmao

That was truly one of the lamest things i have ever seen posted on here. All worth it for what? It will all be worth it to me when it is all said and done. Their worst album is better than most of the shlock being put out today. It was worth it for me. Great tunes, great times, and a great band. Despite what others say, I think Noel is gonna make this a great record. I think it will be their last as a group, (i hope i am wrong) and I think Noel will want to go out with a bang. Nothing they do (no matter how good) will ever get major radio play in the states. It just won't happen. All we can do is hope its great for us and pass it on to our friends

I just listened to Within You Without You again.
I still don't like the song (the original), but if you don't like Liams voice on this song, you have never liked his singing: His voice sounds actually quite similar to MG.

Because that's how I feel too. I loved/&still love his voice and thought he was one of the greatest if not the greatest singer in the nineties.

Yeah, that rendition is blah at best. I also think that the sitar bit, or whatever instrument that is, sounds a bit shit aswell.

The only problem Liam has is his vocal range (especially in the “if they only knew” bit), but his voice itself sounds absolutely great. On Within You Without You his voice really sounds like a matured 1995 voice, it’s just too similar to 1995 to not like it.

It sounds a bit like it does on Heathen Chemistry, and I like how it sounds on that album, I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe on the next tour they could play the songs in different keys so that Liam can reach all the high notes, he has no trouble on the lower ones. Then he could sing, for example, Slide Away and Some Might Say, tunes everyone wants to hear.

On the HC Tour, they did Some MIght Say, dropped down... Sounded OK.

That's true. I wonder why they haven't done it for a while? At every gig you hear people shouting "Play Some Might Say!". It's not my favourite song but as it was their first number one, you'd have thought they'd stick it in the set somewhere.

To fix Liam's voice, I think all it would take is a simple change in his stance. He should place his mic lower so that his neck (vocal chords) aren't stretched.
I also don't know why they don't just raise his mic volume on tours so that he doesn't have to shout so much. On the last tour he wasn't singing, but rather just belting out the songs.

I don't think we'll ever hear Liam sing like he did 7-10 years ago... Regardless of voice lessons, different stance, blah blah blah... His voice is shot. The tone he had is gone. Let's just get over it.

Let's just get over it. It's not a case of getting him to sing like he did 7-10 years ago, because obviously he will never be there again. The thing is that he should at least attempt to make it better, instead of half-assing it the way thru.
