A RARE recording from Oasis’s early days is being put up for auction. The unique video captures a demo gig given by the Burnage rockers to Sony music executives back in February 1994 at Gleneagles in Scotland - before the release of their first single. Oasis were signed up to indie label Creation Records at the time – founded by Alan McGee in 1983 – which merged with music giants Sony in 1992. The video shows the original members of the band – Tony McCarroll, Paul Arthurs, Liam Gallagher, Paul McGuigan and Noel Gallagher – performing a number of songs which went on to be massive hits, including Supersonic and Cigarettes and Alcohol, in their early form. Joel Taylor, owner of Auction Point UK on Burnage Lane, said: "I couldn’t believe it when the video arrived. It really is a rare find as it shows the band singing well-known tracks, but with different lyrics in some parts. They obviously went on to change the lyrics when the final songs were produced. "The staging on the demo is quite good and everything looks really professional. It feels like they’re playing to millions, but when the camera pans around you can see that there are only about eight people watching and they’re all music execs. We are looking to get the tape up on our auction website by the weekend so that people can start bidding on it. We do tend to get quite a lot of band memorabilia coming into our shop, but we have never sold anything like this on the internet before. We think that it will go for quite a lot of money. "I’m an Oasis fan myself, so it’s brilliant to get my hands on such an early piece of the band’s legacy, but I’m not going to be bidding for it!" The video, which was filmed by Sony Executives, arrived at the shop after David Bosman, a friend of the Oasis boys who lives in Denton, dropped it off to be auctioned. One music insider said: "It is a very rare piece of footage. It could be worth a fortune." It will appear on the auction site on Friday and bids will be accepted for ten days. Bootiful.
Different lyrics; he's not referring to "I take two sugars in my tea", is he?
I think someone's missed the point.

The live version of Supersonic on the Live Forever single is from this show as is the live videos of Live Forever and Bring It On Down from the Definitely Maybe DVD. Story out of nothing.

Wasn't the video for Live Forever footage from Glastonbury 1994? Or is it the Live Forever on the 2nd disc?
