Nelly Furtado insists she would never have pursued a pop career if she hadn't discovered Oasis.
The inspiration may appear unlikely, but the hitmaking beauty is convinced she has plenty in common with the gritty rockers.
She says, "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Oasis. I bought my first acoustic guitar because of them and the first tracks I learned to play were Live Forever and Wonderwall.
"I was inspired by their working-class roots because that's the kind of background I come from."

I heard her mention that on much music (canadian music channel) at least 5 years ago as well. She also named Richard Ashcroft as a major influence.

wow, put those claws away girls lol. yeah caro - just because Beyonce has a better ass than you, doesnt mean you have to go killing yourself.... ;D i quite liked Nelly before she went all RnB...as all female pop singers tend to go 'im like a bird' was a good pop tune! i wonder why i should be jealous of a girl who is smaller than me and has an ass 3 times as big as mine... if not 4 times  then she pretends she has a french name cos she thinks it's cool i'm a real french then she's a jealous bitch, her behaviour towards jennifer hudson has been absolutely horrific she's shown her real personality... very bad i was hating im like a bird when it was on the radio sooooooooooo fucking cheesy now she's into crappy rnb (nelly f) so that's even worse finally her behaviour deserves a good slap she's so big headed and now... worst of all... she blames oasis for being a singer now  |
