Kaiser Chiefs lead singer Ricky Wilson apologised to Liam Gallagher for being "rubbish".

The outspoken Oasis frontman previously branded the Kaiser Chiefs a "bad Blur" and mocked them for wearing make-up.

When Ricky came face-to-face with the wild rocker he said sorry for the state of his group, rather than get embroiled in a war of words.

The 'I Predict A Riot' singer told Britain's Guardian newspaper, "When we met him, I ended up apologising to Liam Gallagher! I said, 'Sorry we're so rubbish.' "

Ricky claims the band's new album, 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob', the follow-up to the hugely successful 'Employment' is about taking drugs and enjoying the trappings of rock 'n' roll success.

He quipped, "Our new album is about being rich and famous and taking lots of drugs, because that's what we do these days. I'm a big shot now."

Maybe not their singles but their album tracks do.

When I first heard the Kaiser Chiefs about 2 years ago I thought they were great, didn't stop playing the album when it came out.

But for some reason which I can't put my finger on, I really can't stand them now. I really don't know why.
