OASIS star NOEL GALLAGHER has credited the BEE GEES with being as influential to him as his heroes THE BEATLES.The WONDERWALL guitarist admits he's a huge fan of the band best known for its songs on the soundtrack to the 1977 disco movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER Gallagher says"in my book they're right up there with the beatles in terms of how i learned to like music."but only the first few albums.once they got into disco and all that fucking nonsense, its music for women.

I hate Bee Gees from "Satruday Night Fever", but Bee Gees were really great before that bollocks. All of their songs before they turned to be some kind of disco king, they released very beautiful, melodical songs and I'm not surprised Noel got influenced by those stuffs of them.

This is old news I think. He mentions this on some promotional DBTT dvd or maybe even going back to Heathen Chemistry... He and Andy Bell are talking about some CD of theirs before the disco...

In the Def Maybe DVD, he was talking about some yellow cassette, greatest hits I reckon, by The Bee Gees and saying it was brilliant. The Bee Gees were a great band before the disco shit.

I think people shutter at the word "disco" and associate it with Donna Summer or The Village People, now that was horrible. The Bee Gees "disco" era sounds disco but, is not along side its disco counterparts. Music is Music but, certain music that we chose to label isnt bad but, cos it has that "label" we automatically put that black X over it, without really having listend to it to make an accurate conclusion.
