I'm really puzzled as to why Westlife beat not only Oasis, but the Beatles and U2 as well. Its simple. The sort of people who buy one album a year (middle aged housewives etc) bought it by the bucket load. Who cares man, we know Westlife are shite, hey even the guys in Westlife know that Westlife are shite I'm sure. The history of popular music is littered with junk like that selling more than music such as Oasis, U2 and The Beatles.

2nd is still good, especially for a compilation album of tunes everyone has.

I don't really mind since there are so many great artists that are fucking rich like any hip hop homie. They didnt really beat the crap out of oasis though:
1. Westlife - 219662 2. Oasis - 213289 3. Beatles - 173517 4. U2 - 101083

are those numbers official? 213k is great for a compilation with tunes most of us fans own. DBTT sold like 240k on it's first week. I just hope it will keep it up and doesn't disappear quickly from the charts

I really couldn't give a flying fuck. Since when has the charts been an indication of great music?

Westlife beat oasis cos their album was all new material so their fans had a better incentive to buy it.

Here's a true little bit of trivia for you - Apparently Westlife got their name off the side of a skip, it was the skip companys name. Quite apropriate I think!
