Is that a good number? Because I don't know. its a very good number ,,,coldplay are projected for 400,000 so to push 270,000 and not be promoted as heavilly as coldplay is a good number indeed

no it is a good number without that much promotion. coldplay have been promoted tons and are projected for 400 grand

Better a slow burner which will hopefully be around a long time than a shooting star which has all its sales in a few weeks (what x&Y will be..)

I posted this on a different thread but anyway...
I work in a record shop. We occasionally open early when theres a big release and usually its pointless cos no one will come in til the time we would have opened anyway - but when we did the other day for DBTT there were people waiting outside! That was good. They've still got a lot of pull. 27K is a good number for the first week as the sales are on a downward spiral anyway. we're only a small shop and we had 250 copies first off, which our manager didn't think we'd shift and we did easy. (Like I said we would!) By the weekend we were dangerously low. And the 3 formats were a great idea. I've bought it on 2.
