British rock band OASIS are refusing to sign another record deal after the release of new album DON'T BELIEVE THE TRUTH, because they are keen to bask in their decade of success.
The LYLA hitmakers could reportedly receive up to $28.5 million (GBP15 million) to produce another three LPs - but OASIS are set on remaining unsigned because they enjoy the freedom of not dealing with a money-orientated record company.
Guitarist NOEL GALLAGHER says, "It's not something I want to get involved in. The only thing a label in England can offer us is money, and we don't need any of that.
"We've got our own studios so we can finance our own records. For the rest of the world it would be essential. It's liberating to sit here and know I haven't got a record deal."

I hope they get one _after_ the album is recorded, because otherwise it will sell 6 copies (all to me).

I think Noel's just taking a breather and probably doesn't wanna think about record deals and all that right now.
But when he gets back into it with a new album and that, I'm sure he'll start thinking about it

Good on him . By the way it's a great strategy, because by the time all the singles are out and the tour has come to a close it'll have been one of Oasis most successful albums. All hail to the Chief

they don't need sony for distribution. The difference is Oasis are making a direct profit. They're not making money for their songs or on a record deal, they'll be making the money from the people who buy the records. They can afford it.

Maybe they don't want to sign with anyone while the album is being launched. The publicity of a deal would really piss off Sony if they announced they were going to EMI or somewhere and they would then do even less to publicise it than they are doing now. Its pitiful in Australia, I would say non existant. Its not even jjj feature record and not seen any reviews in the Sydney papers. Its as if tehy are compleatly ignoring them this time..
