dont know where to put this so move it if you want to, but if anyone watches the show lost on abc, they should notice how the band "driveshaft" is strikingly similar to oasis. The brothers were rock stars, the lead singers name is...wait for this one...LIAM, if i remember correctly he looked abit like liam, and the singer had that arrogance, and then drugs ruined one of their albums, the brothers started fighting, and now they are releasing albums and people are slagging them off as hasbeens....sound familair?

haha yeah he said so himself and its obvious with the characters in "driveshaft"
younger brother always argues with older brother one of the brothers is the lead singer and is called liam the other brother is the main songwriter
its all there!

If you saw the episode where they first went into the hobbit guy's back story, there was a scene where Driveshaft (TERRIBLE name for a band) was performing on stage, and parts of the song they were playing sounded a bit like a cleaned up, slowed down version of "Rock N' Roll Star." Same chord progression, played in a similar style. I mean, it's hardly an unusual chord progression for rock n' roll, but with all the other similarities (two brothers from Manchester, etc) it rang a bell for me.
Also, for fans of other UK-related stuff, another back story episode of LOST had the father of hobbit-guy's girlfriend trying to buy a "paper company in Slough." I know UK folks probably got the reference, but for us Yanks, picking that up is a sign of a die-hard anglophile.

there is an episode ( which i beleive is exclusive to latin america, i think so because the interviewer's english sucked) called "FLIX" that is an interview to DOMINIC MONAGHAN (the hobbit) and JORGE GARCIA ( the big one with long curly hair). During this interview Dominic says his character and his band have "that incredible defiant attitude onstage liam has" and try to imitate, in a way, richard ashcroft lead singer of the verve ( needless to say)...
cool guy dominic...

yea i thought driveshaft was oasis from the first minute i watched the show. lost is brilliant by the way,you gotta watch every minute of the whole first season, captivating. alsssso the office is pound for pound the best show ever. i think the office special that capped off the show was one of the best hours of television ive seen.
