Gonna have to dissagree with you there. If you had built up an empire and the success of the band is all because of two people you are not just gonna let two people come in, who may not even work out, and give them a cut of the pie and sign them for a year (especially when they came in after SOTSOG was completed.....Come on what were you gonna give them at that point! A cut of album sales that they didn't even play on....All they were being paid for was the tour!).

What Noel did and probably at the advice of someone else was pay them as an employee until he had a good feel for them. I believe you have to earn it! And that is what Gem and Andy did! I am sure it didn't take too long for them to change their contract.

Plus Noel gives so much credit to Gem. Like for HC he said if it wasn't for gem...... about 100 times!
