Oasis in demand Source : Moneyplans.net Archives
Record companies are flighting to sign Oasis.
The group's current deal with Sony expires in the summer and companies have started a bidding war.
EMI and V2 have reportedly both offered the group a three album deal worth over £15 million, and their interest could yet prompt Sony to offer the band an even better deal reports IOL.com.

In an interview someone asked Noel about the new contract, he asked if it was true about the 21,5 euro deal. He said "it's not enough", it should be 21,5 for each members, so our little Gem will be a billionaire too. ;D

Lol, always thinking of other people our Noel. I'm with Dixon on this one though, after all thats been said they won't stay with Sony. But this is 15M without the UK rights from what i can see (they'll be handled by Noels own companies). Can you imagine the size of cheque if they had Oasis's biggest market too???

i personally dont think they'll sign with anyone, its not like they have to
theyve got there own label, studio and a shit load of money why tie thems selfs down to an album deal where they have to produce 3-4 albums

Not EMI please, they have Copy Protection on all their CD's so can't put em on to IPOD.

If they do sign with someone though at least we are guarenteed 3-4 more albums I think they will sign with someone though to get the hefty contract, and it won't be with Sony. They will make sure to get 100 percent creative control too, so they can pick what songs are singles. There was a big fuss over Lyla being their first single, Noel said it was out of their hands.

As stevo said why sign up when you can control yourself? No deadlines or anything. Oasis can release when they choose to and noel can get his own choice of what to release and put on record. They have loads of money and they don't really need too much money so they can release off their own place.

I hope it's not Sony cause after this I promised I'll never buy anything from that record company again. (I would probably get someone to buy it for me lol).
In case you're wondering I STILL DON'T HAVE DBTT IN MY HANDS! ARGH! Not to mention what they did to Oasis 3 years ago.

At least they protected Coldplay's album from leaking. HC leaked what, a year before release? lol. The DBTT leak story was pathetic, I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. (I do think this particular leak was helpful for sales though).

Anyone as long as not Sony-V2 would be interesting as they would be a firly huge fish there so would hopefully get lots of promotion. EMI are good too. Sony are shocking in OZ at least, as there is NO promotion at all for DBTT, I rang Sanity today to see if they had it and they asked me are oasis still going and then said it should be in next weekend. If they do leave sony will sony be entitled to put out a first greatest hits CD ?
