From Diamonds in the sky. Noel said that he had that song a long time but hated the lyrics, didn't he? I think the acoustic version sounds better.

It's a crime was often called 'Let There Be Love' because of the chorus.
The lyrics from the new 'Let There Be Love' are different as are the chords (i haven't heard it yet).
Although Noel did write a different song called Stand Be Me from what i've heard too

It's a crime was often called 'Let There Be Love' because of the chorus. Surely the other way round.

the demo version was terrible, I'm shocked that people are saying they liked it better then the album version. The lyrics were especially bad on the demo..............

Lyrically the new one is FAR better. Though I do love the original "its a crime" bridge. I wish Noel's "come of baby blue..." bridge was repeated later in the new version. Other than that I think the new one is much better and the best Oasis song since BHN.

well it was never officially released so it was never really given a name but Noel or anything. It has two names, both of which feature in the song There was a Noel interview from back in 2000 where he mentioned he had a song called Let There Be Love. Plus the fact the song is out now and it's called Let There Be Love and it still has the line "Let There Be Love" in it with the same melody and that he's referring to the demo in bootlegs should really stop the song being called "It's A Crime". But it doesn't, for some reason.

Also, we have this post from alt.music.oasis, dated 5th December 1999, nearly 2 months before the SOTSOG demo leaked onto the Internet saying that there were 4 unknown songs (the SOTSOG tracklisting had been announced a few weeks earlier) called Revolution Song (the real name for Solve My Mystery, a track also mentioned by Noel in interviews over the last few years), Carry Us All, Getting Older and Let There Be Love. So I think that settles the identity question.
