Why does everybody hate Little James?? It's amazing and surprising to realize that a hooligan like Liam can sing "...Have you ever played with plasticine..." I know it's infantile (..it's not Gas Panic, ok..) but Songbird and Love like a bomb are the same way and they're fucking great! Live for your toys!

simple structure, good melody, Liam singing = good song in my book I agree - but he could have used some help from his big brother with the lyrics.

I think it's a good song, I love the melody. As for the lyrics - the words can be considered a little "cheesy" but the message behind them is beautiful. Simple but touching. I think most people who criticize 'Little James' don't actually look for the meaning of the song - they just read words - which is quite unfair. For example everyone was going " " over 'Won't Let You Down' because it has the word "clowns" in it! And that was with the preview clip, so they definitely never looked at the full lyrics before saying it was shite.

Little James was for Liam like what, imo, the whole of SOTSOG was for Oasis and that was a transition. A delve into the unknown and trying something new and different.
I like the basics of the song and as someone said it's great to hear a brash, cocky and 'mad ferrit' guy like Liam write a song like LJ.
It's just not 'very Oasis' if that makes any sense lol.

It isn't a HORRIBLE tune, it just kind of sits there in an inoffensive, vaguely dull way. It's a good point about the lyrics though; I for one would rate the song higher if they'd have taken out that damn clanger about "Live for your toys / Even though they make noise". That is one of the worst lyrics Oasis have ever produced. A shame Noel didn't point this out to Liam at the time!

I think, if anything, the last 2 minutes of the song is good, when Liam sings: 'La, la-la-la-la, etc", and Noel's guitar is a nice way to end the song. Reminds of me All Around The World...

Most probably THE worst Oasis song. What were they thinking? as noel's been quoted before, he was thinkin - if i allow liam a song on the album, no matter how crap it is, it'll encourage him to keep writing Paid off!

Oasis should resurrect Take Me and record that. Top song. Although I think Bonehead wrote that with Liam.
Little James is a good b-side at most.

by the way, im not pretending to enjoy Little James, when i load up my SOTSOG vinyl... dodgy lyrics aside, i like the classic vibe i get from Little James, usually suits my mood fine, and the mood of SOTSOG altogether
