I thnbk it could come out sooner than we think late 2006 early 2007. With 4 songwriters and 50 left over from this album. and a possible classic in stc. id like to see a good mix with some sotsog wfl and gp! stuff and continue on from this last one.

I guess being that they will sign a new record deal.. the record label will want an album asap.

but then you remember it's oasis we're talking about, and 4 years would be a little more realistic

but then you remember it's oasis we're talking about, and 4 years would be a little more realistic if DBTT is as well received as we believe it is going to be, then Oasis should release another album (only if it's as good as DBTT) as quickly as possible to re-inforce the fact that the boys are back.

people should remember that those 50 songs aren't to be seen because the band thought they weren't hitting the mark. The good ones left over will be used as b-sides and then maybe there'll be a couple left for the next one (STC probs). I think we'd be waiting a bit longer than a year

The gaps between albums...
Definately Maybe -> Morning Glory = 1 year Morning Glory -> Be Here Now = 2 years Be Here Now -> Standing on the shoulder of giants = 3 years Standing on the shoulder of giants -> Heathen Chemistry = 2 years Heathen Chemistry -> Don't believe the truth = 3 years
So on average, it's about 2 years for an album. So that's how long I'd expect to wait for the next one. Thankgod you're not U2 or New Order fans, and not just because they're crap either, but because you have to wait FIVE YEARS for them to release their next samy boring album.

Oasis are pretty good when it comes to releasing an album. Most bands take 2-3 years to record an album.

I think talk about a new album is premature. And, although i too would like another album asap, i think it is stupid imo in releasing another one within the next year. Wait untill the album has sunk it. Make it be a teaser if you will. Make people want to crave for another, once that craving occurs, then release another. Mid 2006-Early 2007 would be ideal. Let's enjoy this one first though

whatever it takes until it sounds right i suppose is obviously the way they're gonna go about it
it seems they could have released DBTT about a year earlier but it would have sounded shit. I'd much rather wait for something that's right

I think we'll all be gravely disappointed with stop the clocks. Way too much hype for that one.

DBTT isn't even released yet. lets think of that one first. Too true! But as far as another album, it will have to be atleast a couple of years - this tour will last the better part of a year alone, and supposing they go back into the studio immediately you're looking at a year to record and mix. Enjoy DBTT - it's only a month away!

I agree. How can anyone be concerned about the next album when DBTT hasn't even been released yet. Lyla hasn't even been released yet.

The tour will finish in early 2006 after Zak Starkey's contract end. Then the band will rest till May or June and will get back to the drawing board again. I hope next record will be out in late 2006-early 2007, Autumn-Winter.

they should have something to tide us over this time though, like another b-sides collection or a tour documentary dvd

Bands ALWAYS tend to write/record dozens of songs for every album they make. If there is a reason why Oasis had to try 3 times to make this record, then I wouldn't want to hear the songs that were scrapped. Would you??
On another note, I can't wait for the new album to come out. I've heard Lyla only 3 times and have resisted the temptation to download. I can't wait for the end of the month!!
