I FIND it funny that new posters say how much they love OASIS BUT coldplay sound better....CURIOUS ;D ;D that is exactly what I was thinking as I read through the thread... In my opinion, Speed of sound is just simply... coldplay. Lyla on the other hand is fresh and sounds great; makes you sing along and tap your feet. Lyla does it for me

I've said it before, I'll say it again: It's not a competition. It's NOT a competition. It's NOT A COMPETITION. OAsis and Coldplay are mates - their fans will go more mental for Coldplay stuff and we will for Oasis. End of story. Let's not get snotty about Coldplay just because we're worried they will take away from Oasis being the biggest UK band. I'd rather just enjoy my Oasis records and be happy that the UK is producing such great bands and music at the moment. Of course I haven't heard Speed Of Sound, so if it's shit I'll be back to give it a slagging...

I completely agree. But from what I've heard so far, I just happen to like Oasis's older releases(DM to WTSMG) and Coldplay's newer ones(Rush of Blood to the Head and now). But I like both of the bands. If either one of them comes to town, I'll be there.

I FIND it funny that new posters say how much they love OASIS BUT coldplay sound better....CURIOUS new poster...laughable. if it means anything (which it really doesn't) i posted here in the past as mastermaybe...for whatever reason i began to have password problems. Anyway, yeah i do love oasis, but prefer the SOS to lyla. you're right, thats really curious, preferring a single by a band that you love over that of another band you love. as if liking the new coldplay single has anything to do with my passion for the sounds created by oasis. great logic.

BTW- i never implied that it was a competition between the bands...just the perception of fans (namely american) Both bands can (and will) say it doesn't matter to them, but you rest assured, everything being equal, they would like sit at the top of the heap. "if you're not in it to be the biggest band in the world, whats the point?" someone we know uttered that once. i'm sure its all changed though.
