u know guys, this is a tried and tested formula for new bands

they come out to critical acclaim and sell a few records, you know, nothing special

and they know they need the column inches in the press to boost their profile

oasis were the first band who employed this tactic successfully and it fucking worked. but like someone previously mentioned, Oasis talked the talk and walked the walk cos DM and WTSMG are amazing and timeless

newer bands who want what oasis have (and they'll never have it) see oasis as the soft touch. as much as some elements of the gutter press deride our boys, oasis are big news and make a big splash with everything they do - whether it be music or family

british sea power, starsailor, robbie williams, blur, kaiser chiefs, george michael, ronan keating, the spice girls, bloc party etc etc knew/know that if they slag off oasis, noel or liam WILL respond and that'll get them in the press

its column inches that money can not buy

bloc party have gone down in my estimation.

I agree with most of you guys, but the fact is, they want publicity. And this is a great way to attempt it! So lets just stop replying to this thread, so this story can get old and forgotten. Its just a lousy attempt to push a band up a little. Its not worth any of our time to trash this band anymore. I am saying this in the most loyal way to Oasis as possible, so come on lads.....lets move on, we got an album to anticipate!!!

All they want is publicity, and they got it. Look at what we are doing ... We are talkin'bout em. That's publicity. It might be good or bad publicity, but this is how it works. Already some of you guys on this topic asked "who the f* is Bloc Party ...", that means you've never heard 'bout em, and now you do. And some might feel like "uhmmz let's download a song to decide whether or not i like them ... And if you do ... you might sell there record ... and that's how they make money ...

So we are all trapped by them in a way ...
So if you want to support Bloc Party (or whatabout Cock Party ), please continue with all kind of reactions, in the end it will help them ...
If you just DON'T wanna support them, then just don't ever make a response, they are not worth it ...
