British rockers OASIS have come under fire from newcomers BLOC PARTY as they prepare to release their eagerly anticipated sixth studio album.
Oasis guitarist NOEL GALLAGHER has hailed his band's upcoming disc as their best work since debut album DEFINITELY MAYBE - but their POSITIVE TENSION rivals brand Oasis' distinctive sound "lazy".
Drummer MATT TONG says, "I always thought they were really lazy and unambitious."
While guitarist RUSSELL LISSACK adds, "Looking back they wrote some good pop songs, but I remember at the time really detesting them."

Nothing but a ridiculously average, shoe-gazing band trying to get some attention. Let's see them become the biggest band in the world without trying.

Do you all really think that commercial success is what makes a band good? There are lots of really shite musicians who sell as many albums as Oasis...listen to the Bloc Party record and decide if you think its as good as Oasis, instead of judging a band you've never heard on the number of records they sell.

I hate Fuck Party. Their music sounds like something that should have died in the 80's. Fucking vaginas and wankers.

That's too bad, they have some good songs on their album, but also, a lot of weak tracks. I find hard to differentiate between some songs, they all sound the same! They're no where as good as Oasis. They have some nerve to slag them off.

IMO they just jumped along the Franz Ferdinand wagon. They would be nowhere if there wouldn't have been FF.
Oh yeah, and the music's shite and I only diog 2 songs from FF.

I've heard some of the stuff from kaiser chiefs, they're nothing special, they're not very good in my opinion.

ive heard them a few times im not gunna be harsh and say there shit just cos they slagged of oasis, but they arnt owt spectacular, a so-so sort of band. The lead singer pisses me rite off tho i totally agree (except for the grammar and spelling) I have heard Bloc Party and i really dislike them (the majority of people i know have that opinion too) The lead singer's voice pisses me off and i just don't think they are anything special. As for unambitious... I watched There and Then today and listen to what they have to say in the videos, Noel had wanted to play Maine Road for years on another note- i don't think playing two shows at Wembley football stadium was very ambitious oh and one other word... KNEBWORTH

KNEBWORTHwhen he spoke about ambition i think he meant the sound of the band isnt very ambitious, he thinks they just played a style of music that had been done before and didnt realy try to come up with a new sound. I disagree with that though, I mean of course they stole from the beatles but on definitely maybe espescially there are songs that sound like no other band imo. Oasis style was just a huge wall of sound that took your head off and it pisses me off when people dont realise that.

oasis kicked down the walls in 94, bands like travis would have never came to the forefront, oasis made real music kool without a doubt, every real band between 95 and 2000 came to came holding on to the coat tails of oasis, without a doubt
