but israel didn't kill 2 saddam lookalikes. doesn't say that anywhere.
and, yes, they planned it, but they didn't complete it. this was all the way back in 1992. also, george h.w. bush talked prime minister itzhak rabin (rest in peace) out of retaliation.

and by the way, if anybody has anything anti-semetic or racist to say, they'll have to deal with me. i warned you. damn it! as soon as someone starts slinging mud, this is what happens. that was kinda my point. iraq could have been the regional superpower but after the Gulf War and sanctions and it becoming apparent that Saddam was not the "American's Man", they repressed Iraq. Thank you for making me repeat myself. but nonetheless, the point about Israel-Iraqi hostilities remains. you can call them cowardly, but they were in fact calculated. it was an attempt to rally arab support to his cause. the arab members of the coalition would not have continued in the coalition fighting arab brethren shoulder to shoulder with Israel would they? if saddam had succeed in that, he would have fracture the coalition against him, slowing down the allied advance. not in trading, but as in leverage to have their way with the palestinians because they got no political leader backing them anymore with saddam gone. well put. palestinian retaliation/aggression (depending on ur view) is not financed in the way it was, so ppl like Hamas and Islamic Jihad do not have the resources to fight Israel Hence, Israel have leverage in negotiations because the palestinians now have to settle peacefully, and the Israelis dont have to give in to any demand they dont want to. Come on NYR401994, surely it wasnt that hard to infer what was meant without Mape or me having to fully explain it. ;D

it's all good - there's nothing like a good debate to test your grey matter. ;D yeah its a discussion not an argument - i really dont see why people are calling for this thread to die or for the debate to be stopped. its ridiculous- its a forum for gods sake. if people cant talk about the important issues of life then whats the point in talking at all? id respond to some of the new points raised but my brain has been mashed by women, beer and einstein's theory of relativity today... now theres a combination! ;D
