I saw Zak with The Who. Obviously, I saw Whitey with Oasis. And now that I've seen Zak in the Lyla video, it is quite clear, hands-down, that Zak is gonna lift this band to higher rock n roll heights. Forget the mess at Glastonbury. They weren't well- rehearsed.
Ringo's kid and Our Kid are gonna kick America's arse.

Hey, I think that the druming on WTSMG was truly amazing, the drums helped make tht album what it was. Don't think Zak is technically as good as White but i reckon he will be more creative in what beats he does on the new album which will bring a new freshness to the band...

Whitey may have been a better drummer at his peak but by HC he was just a pussyfooter. No fills. No energy. No enthusiasm. Zak is great for the band now. He's got a lot of energy in his playing and has certainly got some fills up his sleeves. Great drummer

Either way, whitey served the boys well, and i think ringo's kid will do the same.

its all A matter of style that fits the bands sound..zak may be better rockin but whitey mahe been better for the sound of OASIS time will tell..heres a example john bonham was perfect with his heavy sound for zep while m keith moon was perfect for the whos sound..i personally thought bonzo the better drummer but he would not have fit in the whos style

No Whitey is outstanding drummer and I don't think that he can be fully replaced with Zak. I haven't heard Zak's full potential and I also think that we should first hear the new album before making judgements. And also "Lyla" isn't mark for Zak's talent. The drums on the track could be easily played by White as well.
So before making such stupid statements please wait the album and then start yelling.

I think it was best for the band that he left, I think he really wasn't into music anymore. However, you can't deny that Alan was and still can be a great drummer. To compare Zak and Alan is like comparing apples and oranges. Both have two different styles.

i like Zak's style much more than whitey's... he has much more intensity as well as personality.. i think it was time for a new face in the band... and Zak is great..., it's just my opinion

They are both great drummers. and I think there is some songs that Alan would drum better than Zak, like Wonderwall, no one can do it better than Whitey did. I agreed that Whiteys drumming wasn´t his best on HC. There wasn´t such an energy like before, but also in HC wasn´t so many fast songs like BHN for example..maybe he was a bit bored about that..? Glastonbury was lack of rehearsal and Liams voice too. Hopefully they practice now a lot that Zak can get into to the songs. He is definitely not a bad drummer, Noel wouldn´t choose him. He knows what he´s doing. It will be interesting to hear new albums drumming sound..Ibelieve that Zak fits it very well

Maybe lyla's sound is suited to the drumming done on it, but I thought it was shit - on a somewhat related note - what actually is the deal with zac is he IN the band now - b/c he's going back to the who in january? Also if, as that seems, that's true taht means oasis is only doing like a half year tour which isn't that long really

you all really havent a clue.. im sorry, it had to be said. about what ..zaks drummin is common knowledge to WHO fans and we all know whitey..i personally dont think it matters who drums cause i never thought OASIS were about the rythem section they were about riffs and attitude and great tunes...BONZO AND JONES were instrumental to zep AS WERE MOON AND ENTWHISTLE to the WHO ..i dont think any of the changes made IN OASIS lineup between DM and WTSMG changed there sound cause they are not a rythem led band..so where do i have not a clue i say this only cause i have 2 posts on this thread and they were of the opinion that it will be of no consequense as to who the drummer is
