Rocker Noel Gallagher, who plays Dublin in July, has dedicated the first Oasis single in three years to a mystery girl called Sally.
Apparently Sally is the second cousin of Lyla, whose name is the title of this latest release by the band from Manchester.
And more than eight years ago when he was writing the Oasis hit Don't Look Back in Anger, Noel included Sally's name in the lyrics.
'So, Sally can wait, she knows it's too late as we're walking on by. Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger, I heard you say'.
Now the eldest Gallagher has gone a step further by calling his new composition after Sally's relation Lyla and dedicating it to 'Sally'.
But Noel appears to be not too sure about the true identity of Sally as his single gets a lot of radio attention before it arrives in the shops on May 16 followed by the the Oasis album Don't Believe the Truth on May 30.
Both single and album are expected to top their respective charts.
All Noel is admitting is what happened in 1996 when he was writing Don't Look Back in Anger.
"Liam mentioned someone called Sally so I put her in the lyrics."

Of course he doesn't know who Sally is, a while ago in the NME he said it was Sally Cinnamon.
Listen to one of the early acoustic performances of of Don't Look Back In Anger and there's no mention of Sally in it.
It's just a name that happened to fit, Noel has said himself that he has never even met a girl called Sally

I know for a fact that Noel went out with a girl called Sally before he was famous.
So he lies!
