Oasis songs - it'sjust so catchy - you listen to it and don't want it to stop - it could be a 7 minute song and still would be great...
My favs:
1. Columbia 2. Some Might Say 3. Hindu Times 4. Supersonic 5. Lyla
Can't wait to hear the studio version - need to pick up the single(how long does it take to import a single in the US?) when it comes out...

I applaud you for liking Lyla, so do I, I think it is an awesome song. But I cant squeeze it in on my list of 5 favorite Oasis songs ever. I think it is definitely in my top 15 though.

out of the last 3 'comeback' singles (GLIO, THT, Lyla) i would have to rank Lyla ahead of Go Let it Out but behind The HIndu Times (to me, that song is pure unadulterated OASIS) i know you can't always believe what noel says, but he did say that Lyla was at best, the 5th best song on DBTT.... whereas The Hindu Times was the tune that HC was built around (the obvious 1st single) So i have high hopes for the overall quality of the new album.... just wanted to add, i really really really miss the sound of the early oasis, the guitars from the early days were way more obvious and at the forefront, with a lot more in your face effects, that's what cemented the "new wave" sound that the early oasis had... (listen to columbia and bring it on down from DM, aswell as any 93-96 bootleg) jmo.

Oasis needs more fucking solos. There have been none lately. Hindu Times needed one.
Lylas is way too short.

He is not the best pure soloing guitar player but at least he had some nice riffs that would fill the song. Semisonic for example. That solo is cake to play but it sounds tits.

It's such a great song Lyla. Grower... Liam is sneering the best he can with his arrogance. Great vocal... Great.

I frankly think it's utter sh!t!!!
Why am I the only one who thinks this? What's good about it?
I think the drumming is super but it's just not catchy enough! The guitar doesn't seem to change throughout the whole song!
In a few weeks i'll probably be worshipping it though.

If someone leaked a vocal-only version instead of this one I would still fucking love the song, Liam is fucking amazing on it.

The bassline in the chorus totally is what I dig the most - combined with the lyrics - it'll be the most repeated chorus since Hey Jude.

Hi I am new to this board too..
IMO, Lyla cant be in a top5 -
most of songs on Definitely Maybe top it.
Cant be as good as Wonderwall, DLBIA, Champange Supernova.
But anyway, I think Lyla is not as bad as some of us here think.
It is a good tune to sing along to.
I definitely wish the solo was a bit longer and there were more guitar fills.
