Did anybody ever stop to think about whether or not the version of Lyla we all have heard is just a shite demo. Can sombody tell me if it's the final cut out there on the net??

i thought noel said that the version that made the album was the original demo he had done a while back, just with Liam's vocals added on.

why would it be a demo and how did the polish DJ get a demo he just played the final version earlier than allowed...

Well... you got it half right. It ain't a demo and it is shit. Should have been left as a demo. Of course, Noel never released Acquiesce either and that was a massive screw up. That should have been the first release.

Since I started this thread I better make fucking clear that Lyla isn't up there with Whatever and Go let it out. But fucking dig this: Lyla and everything to come off DBTT will still be pissing up and down anything U2 and wankers alike have ever put out!!!
GOOD FUCKING NIGHT

so the one we have is the final version aw Its a great tune I gotta admit But its missing something in production... I was hoping that missing thing would be there in the final version... but this IS the final version! Lucky I like it already or else I wouldn't buy the single when it comes out!

I don't think it's a demo but it might be a radio edit if anything agreed

I hope this is a demo to be honest. Mind you, Liam did sing on the demo for Songbird (which may I say is miles better than the final cut) Lyla is a good tune, but its definately missing something. More guitars maybe? but then again, maybe Noels lost it If he thinks this is amazing then the future dont look to good. But thats just my opinion....

He does know how to hype up his albums doesn't he? However I hope it's true. Check out the post from Noel's barmy army in Fact and Fiction. It might lift your spirit!!!

kalas, that is very true. I decided to give WTSMG another couple of spins today since I hadn't listened to it in a while and while I thinkt hat they're mostly all fantastic songs, I agree that if any one of them with a few notable exceptions were released today, I would not put it in the same valuation as it has. As in if Roll with it were released today I would not rate it as highly as I do now.

this may come off a bit harsh, but don't get me wrong about what i have to say, this is all my opinion, not just 'this sucks'.
well, everybody knows how i feel about the song. and i pray that it's just a demo, cause it desperately needs a good catchy bass line by andy (like go let it out). it sounds like an outtake from the be here now sessions, just with a better drummer, and you can actually pick out the instruments and vocals. they need to mature, not take a step back. all they need now is the cocaine every morning bit, and they'll be back to 1997.
as i say once again, give me another hung in a bad place, scyho, little by little, gas panic, or roll it over. then i'll be happy.

You know the best part about being an Oasis fan? You ask two fans to list their top 10 favorite songs of all-time - and no 10 would be alike. Oasis covers a wide genre - and produce songs that everybody can say 'yeah, I liked that song a lot' about at least one of them. That's what makes them great.
Wait for the rest of the album before you spout off about how Noel's lost it - I'm sure there'll be at least one song on it that blows your socks off(isn't there at least one on every album?)

finally, somebody who speaks some sense. i can't wait for the album, because many of their best songs aren't singles (some aren't even on the album), so i'm not blowing them off yet. just the single.
