The award for 'most anticipated' definitely has to go to Be Here Now. After two glorious albums we were all SO excited to see what they would deliver next.
And when I got the album at first, I liked it a lot. But then you started to spot that beneath the wave of hysteria it just wasn't good enough. The songs and production are just far, far, FAR too bloated. Overlong and dull in place (how many times did he need to say "It's gettin' better man"??).
The other problem Noel has, and has had ever since WTSMG, is a capacity to stick some amazing, beautiful songs on B-sides where no fucker but the fanbase will ever hear them, and bung the duffer tunes on the albums. Imagine how good Be Here Now would be if the production were pared back and you had tunes like Stay Young and The Masterplan on there, rather than loud, obnoxious noise-fests like My Big Mouth and I Hope, I Think, I Know. Imagine Let's All Make Believe shining out on SOTSOG, or Idler's Dream on Heathen Chemistry.
I really, really, REALLY hope that DBTT isn't another album where we end up thinking "I wish he'd used the B-sides".

WE will find a way to like a b-side better than one of the album track and say "it would have been better if he'd used... " but we're hardly objective... I'm sure it'll be fine either way, I'm waiting, but also really excited to hear it....

for me personally i don't think i have anticipated an album more than DBTT. i was too young back in the days of BHN, although i do remember thinking...they can never produce a WTSMG or DM. i have been more into Oasis over the past 3 years than ever (i was a fan before don't get me wrong, just my thing for Oasis has now become a passion). I can not wait to hear DBTT, especially after hearing Noel's thoughts on it (the best since DM!!!!!) woooooow!! i am so excited. then there's the tour too, and V, these add to the anticipation!! yesssss!
