yes definitely be here now! and seemingly unlike all of you I thought that was a class ablum - though a bit bloated HC I thought was ok - but its so called "rockers" ie - getting back to basics I didn't think were very good at all - liek hung in a bad place, besides "songbird" "boadc" "scyho" I wasn't too impressed with HC with SCYHO opposite problem - actually wait that was apretty good album anyway the point is that oasis were at their best just before bhn and then they released dykwim and that was just awesome, whereas now I don't think they're at their best adn lyla is not akin to dykwim in terms of goodness - so no I am not as excited - in fact I'm a little afraid

Be Here Now... I wasn't disapointed at all when it arrived... I remember discovering songs like : My Big Mouth , Stand By Me , Don't Go Away , It's Gettin' Better Man & All Around The World...I was pretty happy with it...Still don't understand why Noel hates it so much...
Then i was bloody excited by waiting for " Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants " ( what a great title for a rock n roll album ) but when it arrived , i nearly cried , i was sooooooooooooooo sad because of the lacking of " songs "
About Heathen Chemistry , i didn't gave a damn...I don't know why...Probably because i was so scared of a S.O.T.S.O.G II ...
Now i pretty anticipate this one ( despite the crappy name : Don't Believe The Truth )
Apart Oasis , i was anticipating sooooooooo much Bruce Springsteen's " The Rising " and U2's " All That You Can't Leave Behind " & " How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb "

To be more clear, I LOVED the first two albums and so was THE MOST EXCITED about BHN
BHN I thought was very good - I also don't understand people's problems with it - but it wasn't AS good - it's hard to be THAT good (in fact even if you were you would just be copytng yourself so it wouldn't be as good - so you have to be as good while being completely different which is hard to do)
therefore I was EXCITED (but not as excited) for SOTSOG - when it came out I was also DIsappointed - but in retrospect I think it is actually pretty good - still it is a bit like an OLD PERSON"S record
since SOTSOG was disappointed I was somewhat afraid for
HC - it was preceded by a single which I was not that impressed by - and I still am not that impressed with the album - i like born on a different cloud, scyho, songbird but I think that little by little, hung in a bad place etc are just bad songs - it sounds like them trying to be HARD but failing
so this album
on one hand FEARFUL on other hand excited b/c it does seem like they are trying out new things but Lyla is ok but hardly going to blow my mind as the lyrics would indicate

I STILL can't believe they had a track on it called "where did it all go wrong?" and that they RELEASED it! so ironic

I became an Oasis fan AFTER WTSMG came out... Don't beat the piss out of me, but I was late to hop on the bandwagon... I never paid much attention to DM. I knew about Wonderwall, and bought WTSMG... I'm a DJ, so I picked the album up along with the 10-12 other discs I bought at the time. Listened to the album. Then again. And again. Soon I found that when Wonderwall came on, I was hitting the "Skip" button, moving onto the other tracks. From that day on, I was mad-fet-it for life.
To answer your question, no, I never have anticipated an album as much as DBTT.
The reasons.... 1) The old logo is back. (I know, it shouldn't make a difference, but what can I say? It does LOL 2) Lyla is AMAZING! 3) Liam's voice sounds as good as it did back in 95-96. 4) Noel's descriptions of the songs make me think that there isn't a weak song on the album, much like WTSMG. 5) And WTF, who CARES about anything else.. It's OASIS!!!!!!!!
I must admit, I AM a bit worried about Part Of The Queue, but I WILL NOT pass judgement until I hear the song for myself. (However I WILL be disappointed if the song is shite and that spot could have well been used for Stop The Clocks.)
But, no matter WHAT DBTT sounds like, this will be the ONLY CD in my car CD player for AT LEAST the next 6 months. (As the case with all of the other Oasis CD's that have come before!)

.... I can't believe how many people dont like the hindu times my favourite lead single from all the albums... I love Hindu Times also. I remember listening to that opening track (Hindu Times) and I thought to myself, "Fuck yes, Oasis is back!" I really think that HC is a great album. I also got that great feeling after hearing Lyla. I can't wait. I have been sending Lyla to all my friends and even those who don't care too much for Oasis like it a lot.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I don't want to start nothin, but I respectfuly disagree with you. Have you heard the Finsbury Park bootleg? Maybe you were even at the show so I don't want to say nothin', but I have the boot, and it sounded like a top-notch, kick-ass gig, but Liam's voice sounded like it was in ROUGH shape.
But as I said, by the sound of Lyla, it sounds as though Liam's voice is back in tip-top shape, circa 95-96.

never have i been more anxious about a band than i am now for the new album. it's been so long-too long. i can't wait to hear a bell will ring. the new franz fernindand album! i really hope it will be good. i dont have high hopes for this new oasis album with andy bell and liam writing most of the songs and zak playing drums. oasis could never better their early stuff. they can only move on and try other things. 90% of rock n roll bands do their best music when they are in their early 20's and the first and second albums are written before they are famous. you watch, the next coldplay album will be ego-driven spunk! that plonker chris martin thinks he is a better songwriter than noel.

You know, pizzy you are not the first to tell me that his voice was class at Finsbury Park. Is it just my copy of the boot? On Go Let It Out it sounds like he's just shouting the words "Is it any wonder why princes and kings", he just shouts the word "kings", doesn't sing it out in glorious fashion like he did on FTM "kinnnnnnnnngsssss". And it sounded like as the show went on, it got worse and worse... by the time Some Might Say came along, he couldn't even finish the chorous, Noel had to sing it (I think it caught The Chief off guard as well, as instead of singing "and my dog's been itchin'..." he repeated "it's overflowing gently...")
Was it just that they didn't have his mike turned up enough? Or maybe the crowd was too loud? As I said, I just didn't think he sounded that good at Finsbury Park.
If you listen to FTM, and then listen to the same songs on FP, it doesn't even sound like the same guy singing.

I'll agree with almost everyone else here and say that Be Here Now was probably my most anticipated album ever. But this one is up there.
I don't quite understand the comments about Liam's voice, though. It's good on Lyla, I know, but it wasn't ever *bad*....the HC tour had a few rough moments but Liam's voice on stage and Liam's voice on record are two totally different creatures.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I don't want to start nothin, but I respectfuly disagree with you. Have you heard the Finsbury Park bootleg? What you are saying is a completely different thing though. Even the BEST vocalist you can think of is NOT going to always be in a great shape with the number of gigs these guys play... doesn't make him any less great vocalist. I have the Finsbury boot and I see nothing wrong with Liam's voice. Also, I don't see a problem with Glasto, in fact that's one of my favorites. Well, except for SCYHO where he literally lost his voice. If you listen to "A Bell Will Ring" from Glaston or Poole (or both, don't remember) he reminds me very much of Lyla. I like all Oasis albums, like them a LOT. So I'm not worried about the next one at all, just ansious to see if I'll like it a lot or be completely blown away. When SOTSOG came out I was completely shut to the world and enjoyed it a lot before I found out a lot of other people didn't like it. Same with Glastonbury 04, when I watched the first tune I was very excited, RNR Star just ROCKED! Back to the topic, I'll never antecipate any album more than Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy. I'm hoping it will come out one of these days otherwise I'll just antecipate it forever. lol

They were going to call their new album something like "Chinese Democrazy (You snooze you lose)" but GNR's lawyers contacted them and they changed their minds. ;D
