Lyla is very similar to Street Fighting Man, which I'm sure you noticed. Do you think it's too similar? It's a fantastic tune. After two or three listens I was hooked. But do you think it's too similar to Street Fighting Man?

Also: Who else found it ironic that he said it was a bit like the Who, when it's more like the Stones than anything.

You can't trust Noel at all, remember he said force of nature sounded like the sex pistols...now that is just not true.

yeah, he once described Slide Away as The Smiths' "Reel Around the Fountain" crossed with Neil Young. Um, yeah.

the first line and a bit at the start sounds a lot like street fighting man.
and the catch me when i fall reminds me a lot like i hope i think i know. And the song overall seems a little like hindu times but at a slower pace. I haven't heard it much though so i could be wrong.

The first opening line is the only thing that sounds liek street fighting man to me. I agree. After the first line, I really don't hear that much of a resemblance.

I can see where Noel said it sounds like Soundtrack of Our Lives at bits... Street Fighting Man/SOOL/and then the Who at the end I feel like...

This makes no sense at all. I think he just meant that Oasis are only "back" from the studio, they're not back in terms of how good they are because that never went away. Or something like that.

The start sounds like Street Figtin Man and the end is a complete rehash of My Sister Lover. Real Oasis fans will know what I mean...if you have the relevant b-sides.
