Right... Disregard the thread title, now I've got your attention lol Is it just me or does part of anyone want Oasis not to release a new album? Before you ask, yeah I am completely Oasis mad. Even dress, sound and look like Noel (So I've been told 5 or 6 times!) Only difference would be the lacking guitar skills, and song writing talent lol They are just so good, I don't wanna ever see them end. A new album just seems like a step closer to ending (And 12 new songs to learn by heart!) Then again, part of me is absolutely bloody buzzing for the new album!!! Just can't wait.. It's so bad, I could cry lol Should be a cracking summer.. Just chilling to Oasis. The time when Heathen Chemistry was released was the time of my life! Partly for the world cup. This summer I'm seeing the lads twice on tour and it's my first time! Mo - Live Forever -

" a new album just seems like a step closer to them ending"
What? Fights (for most bands), stagnant writing, no progression, poor sales, them getting older, = step to bands ending.
So to the extent that you think that if this album sells poorly then it will be a step to them ending then I agree.
But to the extent taht actually producing and continuing to make alubms is indicative oif a band ending I don't understand at all. I think that's antithetical to ending. Oasis could just not put out another album, that would keep them from ending. Except, wait, then they would have ended.

I very much doubt DBTT will be below standard, Noel has said he's happy with so I guess all of us will be. Can help it, but the way I look at it is it's another album out.. There's only a certain number of albums they can do. Sounds silly, but I'm just dreading that day when there last greatest hits album comes out.

I really don't look at it taht way. Bands don't continue or fail based only on how many albums they put out. I don't think Oasis will break up after their 20th album because it's their 20th album. Maybe because they don't want to be in a band any longer, maybe because they don't like each other any longer, maybe because they're not popular any longer, maybe because they're out of ideas. But not just "oh, that's alubbm 20 eh? - i'm off". Similarly it's not like "oh, taht's year 38 eh? - i'm done" These factors are merely symptomatic of some of the problems I listed. To the extent that another album is symptomatic of time passing then fine, but time will pass regardless of whether they put an album out or not, and if they don't put out another album they break up by default. time passing does not worry me, i mean, yeah tomorrow they are closer, as a matter of fact to breaking up than they are today. But so what? I don't want to remain stuck with what I have now - I have what I have now regardless of future, future jsut brings more.
But no - I'm not optimistic about this alubm - meaning of sould , bell will ring, let love something I think are really bad. Maybe they've been redone and the rest is killer, I hope so, so far I have been given little reason to think so.
Let's wait for lyla though

Should be a cracking summer.. Just chilling to Oasis. The time when Heathen Chemistry was released was the time of my life! Partly for the world cup. This summer I'm seeing the lads twice on tour and it's my first time! That's what its all about ain't it? Ok, so it WOULD be pretty devestating if it were their last album, and lets face it, theres a big chance that it is; but they're giving us a new album and a world tour within this year, and thats all that I want right now. Get their new album and get tickets when they announce tour dates in Australia ;D ... couldn't care less to what happens after that ;D

i think that the only way this would be oasis last album is that the band stops playing and give up.... nowadays the only thing you need to release an album is money... and oasis has plenty.... also a record deal won't be difficult to get...so....
